Oil leak n54 front/ head gasket

Hi guys,
I heard from BMW dealer lots of n54 are getting their head gasket replaced due to leak at front on motor.
I think it\'s ridiculous that a German engineered motor has to replace head gasket after 90k odd km and 4 years.
Have u guys had similar experience?

Head gasket for an oil leak.... come one and pull the other one. Like the SA that told a very vulnerable blonde when i was at the dealer the other month that a clutch replacement was going to cost her $7K, just because she has a Gucci handbag does not mean you can rip them off blind.

There are several reports of the gasket that seals the thermostat housing becoming leaky at higher mileage, my mechanic noticed today I have a leaking valve cover gasket (maybe) onto the bell housing. But a head gasket that leaks oil... don't think that would be a common thing.

Did you ask them whether they change many fuel pumps regularly? Perhaps that will gauge how honest they are.

Head Gasket leak

My car has only done 55000 klms and there is seepage
on the head gaskets. Took over 2 weeks to determine but
yeah the guys at Southern BM just confirmed today.

Also apparently BMW will not fix it under warranty even if
mine was still under warranty(3months out). Apparently
Minor seepage is not considered warranty issue!

When u consider injectors, coil packs, fuel pump, oil filter gaskets,
Vanos intake/exhaust valve all will konk out sooner than later
now head gaskets at 55,000klms.. maybe I got a
lemon but quite disappointing..

The new c63 Amg coupe is looking real good!

Oh I think Southern BM approached Brighton BMW
and BMW Australia.
Yes would appreciate all the info and help I can
get. Apparently no dealer in Melb has ever done
a HG job.

And it's an oil seepage nothing to do with coolant
leaks or loss of coolant. Car starts and goes like a breeze.
I know it sounds crude but would a stop leak additive
work if no dealer wants to do it under goodwill
warranty?

How bad is the leak? If it isn't too bad I wouldn't worry just yet, but chances are it will get progressively worse. I'll PM you mate's number too so that you can call him up and get his input too.

Can I get the number as well please? I think I have a similar thing - mine is an oil filter leak but would do a valve clean at the same time

Mine didn't end up being a head gasket. It was the gasket where the oil filter housing assembly bolted onto motor. Thank god.
Might be worth investigating that avenue. Had similar leak as urs very slow. Fill up 1litre every 3months or so.
