Now that I have a new Engine...

Since some of you know that I'm getting a new engine. I would like to start prolonging the life of this engine. NOTE: i have searched and researched on this forum, however it is very difficult to differentiate subjectivity and objectivity on this forum.

What are your suggestions for the following?

I bought an injen dual intake system. I think this is good.

I'm thinking of buying a oil collector, but i don't know which one. I've seen on two occasions the dealer had to clean oil from valves and intercooler pipes and it was disgusting. What is best and where can i buy this?

I would like to buy an intercooler, someone told me this will keep the turbo's operating cooler as it doesn't have to work as hard. is it worth cutting plastic to fit a large one? do i have to buy charge pipes separetly? i have to ask because i had to bring my car to the dealer twice cause the intercooler piping came off.

downpipes? i think any downpipes will do.

any other suggestions?

As always i appreciate this communitity's willingness to share info.

If you're going to get an oil catch can, get the AR design one. There was a huge epic discussion about this (expanding several threads), and it turns out that the AR design one was the best.

+1, if money is no object, Farley's is your man (or template).

if you are budget conscisous and want to get the most bang out of your limited budget, you may want to do them in the following order:

1. ECU (Proceed, JB4, COBB, Dinana, ...)
2. LSD (no point in putting another 10 - 20hp in MODs if you car cannot get traction)
3. Rims & Tires (same as #2, no point in putting another 10 - 20hp in MODs if you car cannot get traction)
4. Intake
5. Suspensions (Struts bar, sway bars, springs, ...)
6. Exhaust
7. Functional (not cosmetic) rear diffuser

A vented CF hood would keep your engine running a lot cooler, enhancing both performance and prolonging engine life.
