please say why? I want bulbs that look HIDish with good illumination at night that will last a long time. If you think Silverstars Ultra/normal are not as good as another brand please say what other brand/Kelvin/ what they are called i.e. super white.

After doing a little research on the subject, this is what I found out. Silverstars or any other so called "HID like" bulb, gives the appearance of a whiter, bluer light because the bulb is coated. Coating the bulb actually decreases the lumen output and you will in effect get less illumination at night. The only ways to get more light is to use a higher wattage bulb (this is not advisable) or upgrade to HID's or xenons.
For me, xenons were a must, which are standard on the E92. For you, if you really want better illumination, the upgrade, which is not cheap, is your alternative. If you just want a whiter, bluer light, Silverstars or any other aftermarket bulb will give you the effect you desire.

From Experience Silverstars tend to fail much faster than OEM or other standard bulbs. Went through a couple of pairs in just about a year.

FWIW, They were a little cleaner though, produced a nice light.

Like anyone of these, they tend to get much hotter than the standard bulb. But if you are willing to replace them once a year or so go for some standard wattage bulbs that emit 5600k to 6000k. Avoid PIAA, you are paying more for the name brand than the quality. Plenty out there on Ebay. Don't go more than $25.00 and stick to those Kelvins.
