So don't make fun of me since my knowledge of golf is sooooooo bad.
1) If you start at 8, when will you be done with an 18 hole par 3 course?
2) I do not have clubs, so can they be rented? (yikes)
3) If I can find some clubs to borrow, I really only need a couple for a par three, right? If so, what should I borrow?
4) If I could possibly be the worst golfer in the world, should I even bother?
5) I might be driving a feminine car named Zoey. Will that be a problem?

Okay, that's it. Take it easy, I still have margarita breath from Guapos last night and a swollen throbbing cabeza to go with it!

Are the clubs base prices significantly lower Doug? What'd you end up getting?

clubs can be rented, but for a par 3, you maybe can get away with a driver, 5 iron, 9/sand wedge, pitching W and a putter. Usually 3 hrs for a par 3 crse should be more than enough.

a) No can do...due to injury...RAINCHECK?
b) They don't rent clubs at Sterling park...it is kinda broke-ass little course.
c) You only need 9-6irons, PW, SW, putter, and maybe a 5 wood..there's only a couple holes that go longer than 160yds.
d) I stink too...so any skill level is welcome...

Let's plan for maybe next weekend...?!? I took a muscle relaxer tonight and only have 1 hockey game next week...I played 5 times this past week and I'm too old for that...

And maybe let's shoot for a long course...I like Goose Creek...let's begin the discussion for a VA Golf outing:

A team of players decides which player's ball to play... for instance, let say we are team mates in a foursome, one of our drives ended up under the tree and yours ended up 10 yards from the fringes, we'll both play both our balls at your spot.

... do the same for the next shot.

best ball is a good way for beginners to work on shots...why try to hit out of trouble if you have difficulty hitting in easier spots??

F1. One word; RANGE. Seriously, spend some time there before (ie. 3 or 4 sessions) before going on a course.

The only things I love more than my family are; 1. Golf 2. My BMW 3. ahh, lets not go there .

I'll look through my coupon book and see where I can get "special" rates.

I agree, ranges are the best place to work on different course shots, when you're out on the course, you'll be dealing more on Course mgmt. Those two go hand in hand; Range is for the physical aspect, while the Course is for the mental part.

Back home now.. nothing like a friend that offers the couch when ya start drinking!

I ended up getting the Calloway X Hybrid, 2H (replaces the 2-iron, equal of a 5W). After only a couple of swings, I was good to go. I also hit 2 big buckets of balls, and got my irons to go straight; this feels like the year I break 90.

Ft. Meade would be $24, +$15 for an electric cart. I'm a member there now, figured I'd get most of my monies worth during the week.

Best ball works for me, but everytime I've played, there was usually a rule that you had to use 2-3 drives each (like one a side).

I'm clubless until next weekend, when my 2H comes in and my clubs will be regripped.

tman & ase,

Got it, I will try and get out to a range sometime this week. It's not like I've never played before, just not in a while and after thirty, things just don't seem to pick up where they left off like they did when I was younger. My brother has some junk clubs, I'll borrow a few and go hit a few buckets just to get.........the swing of things!

Scott,
I was out in your areaall morning till about 2 this afternoon running around in the girlie car, that's Miss Zoey to you! I wish I had gotten the message earlier as I might have been able to meet up with you. Too late now, oh well. Nice day out there. I shot over to BMW Sterling and then on to FOW. They had a nice Monaco 335i coupe. I think if I end up going dark, I will end up with that. If I go lighter, It will be Space gray. Awesome day for being outside.

Let me know what's happening next weekend. I am fairly sure Sunday will be the only day I can do something. Hope everyone gets out and enjoys the weather today!
