so bloody cheap!

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/3107577.htm

Seriously fully loaded car which I can imagine could be haggled down to 23,23-5k?!?

Jesus.. M3s are dropping in value so fast..

I know it's not lived the easiest of lives compared to some but still! With all those options that price is remarkable.

Relatively speaking though mate it is VERY high mileage.

Also, impossible to insure. IMPOSSIBLE!!! I swear the rest of you are driving without insurance, or you're older than time

Depends if it's possible to get BMW warranty; if so it's a lot of car for the money although leggy for an M3.

Thing is. The only way it's possible to get mileage that high is motorway miles considering the age of the car.

So really, it's not going to be worn out.

Your biggest issue would be if you plan to run it as a DD then the mileage will quickly tip into the "unsellable" category.

So I wouldn't buy this one. But the point is. 23k on the road (I'd imagine) or only just over, for an E92.

I reckon by January we'll be seeing sub 20k E92 M3's...

ps. Insurance. You forget I paid 1800 to insure a 320d 2 years ago. 1600 odd to insure an M3 is but a far off dream for me...

I don't know if Matt classes me as "older than time" (I'm 43) but the M3 comes in at 634. Perhaps it's a post-code type thing?

We discussed this at length in one of the many many insurance topics Matt is in an E or an F postcode.. which does explain an awful lot. And used to be in a much safer postcode.

I'm a D: Which is not ideal but not awful.

Fandango lives in an A rated postcode the swine.

I'm just raging about it peeps (clue is in the name) hehe!

I am confident it is a postcode thing for me, but also that 6 points, age and only 3 years NCB won't be helping me.

The Golf renewal is 690 because suddenly I am less risk than last year (850) because I've already been driving the car for a year and I haven't claimed.

Anyway, thats Off Topic, so sorry MEGA.

I know it won't be knackered - it'unsellable that bothers me. I'd consider a high miler, but as I add 20k miles per annum, I'd like to think I can buy one cheaply enough that it accomodates some of my high mileage in addition to it's natural depreciation.

For some reason, I couldn't bring myself to pay 23-24k for a car which is so up on miles just because it is quite a large some of money, whichever way one looks at it!!

Regards
Matt

Just did an insurance quote on an M3 DCT, purely for research purposes. 6000 miles per annum, 850 total xs, protected no claims - 453 with Esure - 7 quotes below 600. Age clearly has its advantages. I am area B for car insurance risk.

Now where is the AUC website.....

I'm area D so at 634 it must be because I'm such a good driver.

I can't believe I'm only a 'D' rating. For the size of my bastard mortgage I was hoping for an 'A' or 'B' rating at least .

Why. Would they come around and check your mileage before the policy started?

Although this is another topic once again

I've never thought to get a quote for an M3 before as it's not on the radar for me, but I just did my insurance yesterday and all my details were saved so I changed the reg to the one on PH and the value to 24000

I'm E* postcode, 12yr NCB, 39yr old and included my wife on it. 450 total xs, 8000mls, kept on drive, Social and commuting.

563.31 with Admiral. I think that's not bad. Also I would get a further discount with my two car policy. I know this because I argued it yesterday and won with my own cars

I think we'll see the prices of a lot of these cars fall by quite a bit over the next 12 months or so. The non AUC market for second hand cars of this nature is bad enough but a second round of financial melt down, insurance prices going through the roof and prices at the pump going up like a Blue Peter appeal display will put even more buyers off.

I'm afraid I think the market's only going one way at the moment with the latest financial issues coming to the fore.... :-(

Crikey, it's a dealer too, so they will have 4-5k margin in it too!

It is leggy, but makes you wonder how long (albeit newer) dct cars will retain what amounts to a 10k premium over the cheaper cars.
