You need the media adapter or have it coded to play video using the apple iPhone cable. And it will only play "iPod" videos, no third party videos like Netflix, YouTube, etc. I just purchased a media cradle for my iPhone 4 and will try it out tonight.

It's nice, fan is quiet and it plays videos from iPod while stopped. Not full screen and for plug In iPod control it gives you a different control screen.

If you purchased BMW Apps with your vehicle then videos will play when stopped. If you do aftermarket retro-fit then it plays in motion.
