CXRacing New N55 FMIC Intercooler kit Bolt on fit.

Based off our N54 FMIC kit, we have developed a new kit for N55. Complete bolt on, just need to cut and trim some factory plastic bumper shroud.

For the N55, the throttle body side cold pipe are different, it has a new oil cooling sandwich close to the intercooler outlet on the driver side, so we have to make a new pipe. The charge pipe is simpler than the N54 due to single turbo, it does not have the dual by-pass valves, only has one sensor. So we made a new charge pipe too, replaced all the factory thin plastic tubes. This new intercooler kit for the N54 will be great. We will also offer a 3 cold charge pipe alone too to fit the factory intercooler

we will weld a Meth Bung too on the charge pipe to support Meth kit.

this new kit will be available around late September or early October. price will be around $600.

There are some pictures:

Installed with Bumper Support beam on:

Bottom Intercooler Bracket:

Top intercooler Bracket and Air Shroud:

Turbo side hot pipe:

Cold side charge pipe (for N55, not for N54):

yes, the sensor flange will be on the charge pipe and it is at the same position as the factory one, factory sensor will bolt on perfectly.

we will dyno the car later, we expect very good results since this is a very popular FMIC setup for N54 and it has been proven.

it probably would need a small section of straight pipe to make it match to their chrage pipe.

but our cold side is completely aluminum pipes, all the way from intercooler outlet to throttle body, from 2.75" to 3", efficiently building up air flow Velocity, should be better then from the restrictive facotry 2.5" then big jump to 3.25" like others.

our charge pipe will provide meth bung to support meth kit.

just saw CPWINCH bimmer with the cxracing fmic yesterday.

-cx u guys should consider the cold side charge pipe to be
2 pieces. 1 from the T-Body, and 2 from the bend
going down to the FMIC.

why - because, it's a nice option.

btw, great job on gett'n a solution for the n55 quickly.

that's what we will be doing and offering for the kit. the reason CPWINCH still have the factory pipe is we did not have enough time to machine the sensor flange. but we will send him a new charge pipe after it is being made. it is just like pictured, take a look.
