Another thread time to change car...

I've narrowed next car finally...either new f10 535d or x6 4.0d

Look at so many from Nissan GT-R to Range Sport. All great but very impractical in their own ways.

Researched the f10 pretty heavily but I can't see anywhere or confirmation that the 4.0d lump will make its way into this model. Is it that the 4.0d and 3.5d just same engines but badged differently as figures show same output.

The x6 looks great but seems that it might be a revised model due soon as this is the case with the x5. Any info about this change and when?

Wildcard is the Cayenne in diesel...just look a bit plain but been looking at Merdad (tuning/body specialists), expensive but really transforms the look of the car.

40d and 35d are all the same engines, all variants of the twin turbo 3.0d engine.

X6 is not to everyone's taste and residuals are not as good because of that, your money would be safer in a nice 40d M Sport X5 which gives the same drive as an X6 but a bit more rear and boot space.

So 3 votes so far against the x6...

How many X's make it off road and I understand the wallowing suspension but that can be tweaked.

No one has said anything negative about the 5er...does that mean it's liked??

F10 or X6? I would rather walk.. Get a brand new white Range Rover Sport, or even better a new E92 335

Been looking at the new RRS....much improvement over mine. Think they've addressed lots of niggly issues.

Could always go for an Evoque.... that car will def keeps it value!

I have an F10 - albeit it the lowly 520d .... and er... its okay. That about sums up the car. Def does excite, though im sure a bigger engine will make it much more fun.

I have X5 40D and couldn't see the point of the X6 unless you have a 4th mate you don't like and so only want 2 rear seats. Will be sold soon unless my dad wants it. It's 10 months old with 4.5k on the clock so it really not getting much use.

The GT-R is the car to get

I quite like the X6 personally, it's grown on me, and it something a little bit different. That said, if I was using my head, I'd be the X5 everytime on a practical point of view (why restrict yourself on practicality/resale when talking these sorts of money).

I really like the look of the F10, especially in M Sport guise, but not driven one (I actually quite like the latest 7 series).

The X6 just looks odd to me... I would go with either an X5 or a RRS

I don't know but I quite like this but I can see the 5th seat missing may be an issue. I was so convinced this morning with the x6 as well!!!! Don't really have friends thankfully...

Any friends you did have would probably pretend they didn't know you if you had an X6 anyway

In all seriousness, and I hope you don't take this the wrong way. I see you as being a bit of a flash bastard Tiko. For me that rules the F10 out. The white M Sport on here was very nice but I saw a black one round the corner from my office earlier today and it just kind of blends in with the traffic. It's a lovely car but going on your e90 persona I don't think it's for you.

LOL with that pic of the X6 TikoV your spot on mowflow, If it was me, the X6 is a fun car to have for 2 but if your carting a family about then it's a waste of money and space. I would get the F10 and spec it up

Not at all, I wouldn't get offended you saying how you see it. I appreciate straight talk. The f10 ScottChu has looks the business and I think it'd suit my style and double up as a very good family car.

I'm hoping to get a few drives of a x5 40d, RRS and 535d.

No one like the Cayenne then?
