New PB! Stock Motor 12 PSi

Went to the track again last night.

Busted out an 11.7 @ 127 with an 8,540ft D/A. (Static elevation is 5,800 ft). For example, 135's slightly modded run 14.1's up here lol and E92 M3's run 14.7 is best anyone has gone in one.

Bone stock motor with studs. Rolled over 245,000 miles on that pass too which is pretty neat!

Tires are bald & heat cycled 255 A032R road race tires. Still waiting on my 15" Slipstream/Wrinkle wall setup.

Guess I should start looking for a cage kit.

Will be upping the boost to 18psi on E85 and try to bust out a 10 up here. If it doesn't happen by October, a sea-level trip is in order for me!

Don't lie Chris! That 14.999 was probably yours.

I'm pretty sure Chad ran a 14.6 last time we were up there.

Nice run! What were you running against, an EVO or an STI?
Yes Alfred, I had a 14.656 two weeks ago.
BTW, where is that filling station with 100?

It was my friend Kellie's built 2.5 Bug eye wagon GT35R Rotated kit. Thing put down 510awhp on 23psi, but due to EBC problems she was only hitting 12psi last night.

Nice, so you beat Sid to the 14.6's!

The pumps at the end of the track have race gas. There are a few pumps around town that sell 100 and 104.
The ones that I know of are:
Hill Petroleum
AAI Speed Shop
Gas station at 32nd'ish and Wadsworth (Just north of Cemetary)

Sinclair off Ralston (58th ave) and Sheridan in Arvada. There are other places in Denver too

Thanks, although breaking into the 13's would be awesome, although highly unlikely without some serious $$

I had a blend of the 104 from the track and some 91, but I don't think I would have driven enough to have the DME fully adapt to the blend. dcstep (who's from Denver) on m3post has actually dynoed different fuel setups and sees gains after 50-60 miles, albeit, not very impressive unlike those at or near sea level. I'd like to fill with 91/100 blend the week before I go back to the track and see if I notice any trap speed gains. If not, 91 will remain my fuel of choice.

Personally I doubt the factory ECU's parameters allow it to adapt past a certain level anyways to take advantage of race gas. I would be willing to bet that it adapts some, but there has got to be a fail safe in there that limits how much the timing can advance/retard.

Does anybody offer a flash for race fuel that would instantly input timing curves for higher octane fuel?

Damn, that is awesome! BTW, that list for the fuel stations is pretty old, most of those aren't around anymore unfortunately...because the one on Belleview was right next to my office.

From what I have seen, no race gas files are kicking around not to mention it seems kind of silly for an NA car.

I would only put a blend in so as to be around 94-95 octane but drive around for a week or so. When I blended fuel at the track I was also around 94-95 using some rudimentary math, but hopped on the track immediately and put maybe 1.5 miles on the car.

From what I've read from tuners and others who have dynoed after installing tunes, it takes roughly 50 or so miles to fully adapt.

The guy I mentioned earlier saw gains up to 96 at which point he lost power almost immediately.

Excellent job on your time and MPH, that's one helluva fast car. I bet a set of true drag radials or slicks will net you some insane times even further.

Sounds like it's time to invest in a set... I wouldn't wait on Anderw to order those up... hahaha

On a side note, Critter why are you comparing 135i's and M3's against a turbo M3? That's an apples and oranges comparison.

I just copied the post from other forums. People that have never driven up here don't realize what elevation does to your cars power and your times. Had to give them something to reference and since it's on BMW forums, best to use BMW's as an example, both N/A and F/I.

For example, my pass last night corrected would have been a 11.1 @ 133 with standardized D/A correction.

I bet you get in the 10's before the season is up. Sticky tires will be sick.

Critter: I need NOS. I need NOS. My car topped out at 140 MPH today.

Andrew: Amateur's don't use nitrous oxide. I've seen the way you drive, you have a heavy foot. You'll blow yourself to pieces.

Critter: I need one of these. One of the big ones. Actually, let's make it two.
