x-post: good news, bad news. RFTs installed

thought it'd be worth posting here as well for Philadelphia area members:

The good news is the lousy Bridgestones were replaced. Initial impression is replacement Contis are smoother and quieter.

However, I noticed two wheels have been *blessed* by the wheel technician at the local dealer.

Working on my letter of complaint for tomorrow. Will be a battle as I did not notice the damage before leaving the parking lot.

As expected, initial response is that technician claims pre-existing damage.

I'm no tire mounting expert but that damage looks like it only could have been done when mounting/removing a tire from the wheel.

Good luck with your resolution.

ditto, looks alot like the scrape from a bar used to help pull the tire off.

Uh, not (yet) naming names as the matter is pending.

On a related note, it is ironic we will not buy from Devon Hill but we have enjoyed positive experience with their service department. Unusual disconnect between their two departments.

You'd be surprised at the number of dealerships(not just BMW) where the service department is great and the sales side sucks, or vice versa.

I will 100% agree with that assessment and based on your earlier comment about denial, it appears they are a liar as well.
