DP's and passing emissions in Ontario

Guys I know this topic has been touched on in the past but can't seem to get a definitive answer. My question are to those who are running catless down pipes and are passing emissions. Had purchased my vehicle around a year ago and now am ready to bring it to another level wanting to add catless DP's. I'm mildly modified with a JB 4 G5 which I believe will suppress the SES light that's associated with catless dp's. I'm hoping someone can break it down for me on any thing else needed to pass the test. I believe your allowed one monitor not ready to pass in Ontario. Thanks any input would be greatly appreciated.

DP fix, set map to zero, clear codes, drive for three days, then check readiness.

I use an iPhone app to see the readiness state of the car.

Once all of the indicators are green (ready) go through the test.

It is that simple.

Actually in ontario you are allow one parameter to be in the "no ready" state. So if you hav e a obd scanner with emission capa ilities you can scan the car and make sure u have 7 out of 8 ready and it should passed

I have catless headers and i passed emissoons last month with one no ready

you do not need anything to pass the test, I just did emissions with catless DP.
It just shows one error code, which is fine to pass.

that's interesting so your saying the dp fix is not needed. I still have the older firmware version on my JB4 that has auto clear so it will supress the engine light. Thanks for the info. Of coarse I realize I have to set it to map 0 before the test. Any one else in the GTA with a JB4 G5 passing emissions without dp fix??? Thanks guys for all your input!!

Yup passed without the dp fix. Just make sure its driven around a fair bit before so all the sensors read ready. Ontario allows you to fail 1 which is what happened with my Catless DPs.

How does the DP fix work if I have a BEF? If I set it to map 0 does it still "turn off" everything to allow the machine to talk to the car?

Hi magha thanks for the reply I noticed in you sig your running the jb4 g5 with a back end flash wanting to take that route next. When going in for your etest are you having to resort back to factory flash and setting your map to 0, or is setting your map to 0 sufficient and leaving the bef alone, would it be enough to pass. Many thanks

Don't remember flashing back to stock, pretty sure I had the bef running.

It's not like they plug in a specific bmw tool it's just an OBD reader.
