Are shocks/struts/springs interchangeable for E92/E90?

Just wondering.

I see people selling H&R sport springs advertised E90/E92. The part numbers are different on **********'s site but people are saying they're the same?

Same with the Koni Yellows. Except on the site, it's advertised for both and when you go to the drop down, it doesn't show different applications???

shocks and struts should fit no problem. I had E92 shocks struts on my E90 for a while and they fit and worked fine.

Springs are interchangeable, but there could be differences in heights, depending on model. Factory zsp has like 4 different front springs depending on if the car is a 328i or 335i, and if it's automatic or manual. Each is a slightly different length so that the ride height is consistent across all models. Rear zsp springs are lower on E92s than on E90s, and E93s have the tallest rear springs to compensate for the added weight of the top.

OK cool...that's what I figured. Damnit, I could have bought a set of sports for cheaper!!

I guess I'll pull the trigger on these yellows...

I'm running 335i D7 front zsp springs with lowering perches, and D4 E90 rear zsp springs with koni yellows about a half turn from full stiff.

I have an e90 325i so the lowering perches were required to get the car to sit right in the front. I should have used D5 328i zsp front springs, but didn't know there was a difference when I first purchased them.

I should have H&R Sport (again, lol) and Koni Yellows on soon

Can't wait to see pics.

Edit: I have H&R Sport/Koni Yellows on the way!! I can't wait to get them on. I'm hoping (to God) that I will finally be 100% happy. I do wish I could get a little more drop in the front. I guess I could do the spring perch thing you're talking about?

Hey man...I have another question...

When I sold my FSD's, I accidentally shipped the rubber pieces that sit on top of the strut where the spring sits.

Right now, there's like cut tubes sitting in there that the tech put in. Do you know what those parts would be? I'm looking on tischer's site but it's hard to tell..

I'm thinking it's this??

I copied this from getbmwparts

Spring insulator, 3 series, lower - 2wd - 2WD

I can't imagine what else could be a spring insulator (especially upper/lower)???

I couldn't find the pic that shows the assembly...I usually am able to do that...

Nevermind...I'm stupid...right next to the damn part is "View illustration." It's the insulator. I love that site.

OK, I'm done replying to myself now....jeez...what a day...

Sweet car. I love E90's. I wish I could have both.

So you don't want it lower in the front?

Thanks Gizmo!! yeah, actually, I'd like it a 1/4" lower in the front, lol. have to find some D6 or D5 zsp springs though.. or maybe just get the front coilover conversion from HPA. I can't go much lower than that, because of the way our underground parking garage goes down from the entrance. I'll scrape the jackpads if I do.

Koni Yellows are the same on E90/92.

H&R Springs carry a different part number and may have something to do with ride height.

Thanks man.

I ended up buying springs with the part # for the E92.

And my yellows will be here today....

I just hope I'll finally have the ride I want.

I wish I could afford Ohlins or AST's....maybe someday..
