Hello, Im a new BMW owner of a 2009 328xdrive.
My transfer case and transmission went out, the transmission output shaft spline and the xfer case coupler wore themselves out.
So being and aircraft mechanic and pretty handy I decided to change these parts out myself with my dad, this is the first try at this and after putting in the new(used) tranny and xfer case, the car only went into reverse. Frustrated I went to ask a mechanic friend of my dad to look at it the next day, and to my surprise now it goes into drive and even shifts on manual operation(btw its and automatic car, with the gm tranny 6L45).
The only thing is that theres a weird vibration and ive been reading and it says the tranny has to be coded???
So can anyone help me out, point me in the right direction or let me know who can code it for me and a reasonable price I should pay.

In comparison to working on helicopters an airplanes this is much more difficult than I anticipate.

Nothing to contribute but damn how many miles does your car have?? Mines 09 but so far so good.
Anyhow good luck there are plenty of codera out there but im not sure if they are capable of coding such

The old one had about 63k, the "new"(used) one came of a car that had 32k on it
