e90 07 plate bluetooth android jelly bean issue

Hi has anyone else been unable to pair their phone to the idrive.

Galaxy S2 running Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 does not find the idrive (2007 e90 with original idrive software (very old)) as a device to be paired too. No idea what it could be?

Any thoughts on how I could get this to work, maybe reset the idrive system somehow?

Thanks

have you tried a different phone? iDrive/ Bluetooth with my last Android phone, an HTC Desire was a complete nightmare, constantly connecting & disconnecting, but it's been spot on since I replaced it with an SGS3. It's worth trying a few different phones just to narrow down whether the fault is with the phone or the car

i tried another S2 running the same Android version as mine. it failed to locate the car's bluetooth as a device to pair too.

This issue only started after I had upgraded the android firmware from 'ice cream sandwich' to 'jelly bean'.

Is there anyway I can reset the whole idrive system....maybe disconnect then reconnect the battery?

thanks

Are you running a "rooted" phone? If so, stick a custom ROM on it. I had a similar issue with my 07 E90 (non idrive) a couple of months back.

Phone failed to locate or connect to the cars BT and I too was running Android 4.2.1 Jellybean (Stock).

Since then, I've rooted my phone and installed a custom ROM (PACman in my case atm) and my phone connects without fail EVERY time. I can sync my contacts to the car, browse my address book via the stereo, use the voice commands etc etc.

Might be worth a try!

EDIT: Sorry forgot to mention my phone is a Nexus 4

excellent thanks for the reply, yes i think the issue is with the 'stock' Samsung jelly bean. I might try a custom rom, see if it solves the issue.
