Enhanced PROcede harness done :)
Hi everybody,
Finished my enhanced harness for the PROcede: What it does: 1) PROcede wireless remote access. Read everything about by clicking the link in my signature. 2) Allows to hook on the PROcede to switched power. This is done by 2 relays which are taped into the wires and emulate the bypass plugs when the car is turned off. Turning on the car again, the relays open and the PROcede can operate as usual. Kudos to you for attempting this. Why it needs to be done is beyond me but Im still impressed.

Now for the questions, which two signals are you doing this with? If used on the wide band signals, is there any concern about the PROcede sinking the signals? The power on the PROcede may be removed but the ground would be intact. Could there be an issue of the output driver pulling the signal down some; especially with the very high impedance required to measure O2 sensor signals? Just curious as usual and once again, thanks for all of the time and input. |

Very funny, but I guess you had to see the earlier post to get it. Seriously, why? Because you want to enable it when you want it, then dis-able it for normal driving? Can you elaborate? |

There are no commercial interests behind these activities. For the wireless remote access I requested some background information from Shiv and got great support. I share with you what I do and detailed informations how it works as well. However, if you feel there would be a demand for a group buy related to the wireless remote access ( I think you should have some related skills for the DIY ) I would be willing to do this once for a reasonable price. But again, I expect delivery of my car mid of next week and I want to see it working in the car in advance. I want you to know about the downsides, if there are some. E.g. I know by now that the data transfer will be slower ( caused by the bluetooth-bridging ), compared to a physical cable. I am ok with this, but you have to know. What I'm doing is more like a hobby and when I got aware about the PROcede one of my first thoughts have been to enable wireless connectivity. The relays offer, as alredy mentioned to add a PROcede power switch. They will not harm anything and behave exactly like the bypass plugs do. So you can switch back to stock for whatever reason. I will do this as the next "modding the PROcede" activity and have plans to do this wireless as well. If Vishnu wants to incorporate some ideas or enhancements in their product line they should feel free to do so. Stay tuned This a an insider ... I can see people wanting to turn off the proceed if their wife wants to drive the car. I dont know how happy i would feel about my wife driving a car with 370hp/400lbs, especially when she's used to driving cars with 170hp/170lbs.

Hi
Just a little nice and funny wireless connection test I like to share with you. I am continuously datalogging using the wireless connection since more than 24 hours without one single data corruption issue ( datalogging is possible, even when the PROcede is not connected to the car's sensors, so it is ideal for endurance testing ). I got curious about the wireless signal strenght. I left the PROcede on the table and put the laptop with the 2nd SD100 into the fridge . This is a pretty good isolated environment. No problems at all, call me crazy for that . So be sure, it will work in the car. Cheers Eugen |

The two class-1 SD100's are surely the easy best-case scenario for reliability of serial-cable replacement, but a laptop's built-in bluetooth wouldn't be much worse, especially if it's also class-1. |

great work!
I dont think I understand the purpose fully... When I think of wireless I think its for wirelessly updating the Procede maps. Is that correct? Can you also tell me the benefits of having the procede turned "off" when the car is off? (hopefully I didnt misread your posts) |

I'm currently waiting for v2 to be released. Since the harness will change I can't tell 100% if there will be any impact. It works well and will be continued when I know enough to finish.
