Programming FRM module with aftermarket seat?

My car is at the dealership getting maintenance done at the moment. They called me to let me know my FRM module that controls the lighting and windows stopped working. They replaced it with a new module, and said they were going to code the car over night. This morning the tech said the coding had failed because of my recaro seat, and the disconnected seat wires leading to the dme.

My question is, do you need to have your stock seat plugged in, in order to flash the whole car? I still have my seat but to be honest, this doesn't make too much sense to me. I know several other fellows in modified e9x m3's who bring their car in for coding with aftermarket seats and have no issues.

If anyone has some advice it would be greatly appreciated as I need to move in 4 days, and I still don't have my car back.

Did you change the VO to reflect the seat change?

Stoopid stealers probably not using ISTA /P properly for retrofits.

They will just create a measure plan which will try and update all modules. However without first coding your seats this will always cause problems with ISTA P.
