Very clever stuff, I've never managed to get the weather via the nav system though. Is this a new thing?

On the I-drive control hit the 'Menu' button.
Scroll down to 'BMW Services'
Select 'BMW Online'

Hit the 'OK' button and the homepage will appear on screen.

I think the default is weather, but you can customise it to your preference.

It can be quite temperamental (BMW Online) dependent on the connection and strength of signal.

You can do a google search, but never bothered myself.

Do you know where the accelerator pedal is Del?
I can do a write up if it helps

There is an easier way to check the weather, on I drive hit menu, scroll down to BMW Services, lift your eyes and look out the windscreen !!

I understand how to view the weather via Connect, but the video made it sound like you could get weather notifications of the selected Nav route. Something like traffic updates and road works.

BTW. Trying to be a smart arse really suits you Ian

Thanks for you valuable reply, but it doesn't help with weather at your chosen Nav destination much

you can see weather at destination already? Do you mean dynamically? (I haven't watched the video)

I never use it - like all weather forecasts: it's bollocks anyway.

I cant get access to any other app other than weather or google local search, the interface is way too clunky to be of much use really. Perhaps in these days of ipads and iphones etc I am expecting too much. Still having said all that, I am quite glad that I have it all in the car :-)

If only BMW didnt charge nearly £400 to update the bloody maps though... :'-(

Ok, just checked again. During the Convenience features video, about three quarters through. he definitely mentions "weather overlay directly on your map route"

It gives you weather and 5 day forecast.

Read out the sport news to me driving back from Leeds last night.

Found me a hotel in Leeds that I was looking for, contact details and nav directions.

Yes it is slow and clunky but its not useless as some say.

It show the weather on the map when you scroll right out. My salesman told me that it also displays stars at night but the display is identical on mine day and night.

You must have night mode switched off - it definately changes to a starry night in night mode...

Thanks I will check it out once my car dries out. I just found out about the auto-window opening function the hard way!!!!! When I went out to my car this morning the windows had been down all night in the rain.

FFS what an idiot. Might as well just have jet washed it inside like the Romanian
bloke on You Tube.

A couple of months ago I made this comment on this to BMW via the feedback link on their web site. To date they have yet to respond. I'm not holding out any hope
