E91 Side repeaters
I've not long ago fitted some blackline lights to my E91 and was hoping to get some smoked side repeaters to match. There are loads on ebay listed for the E90 so though they would be the same fitment .....however they didn't fit.
So anyone know where I can get a set of smoked repeaters to match the blacklines for an E91? TIA Last edited by Rob GTI; 12-16-2011 at 05:58 AM.. |

I'm surprised - I would have thought the E90/E91 were identical.

I got some aftermarket ones and they fitted pre and post LCi E90 and E91 (and others I think).
They have a chrome strip running through the centre of them, and this is separate to the light unit. However, as the light units are handed, so are the chrome strips. Hence if you put the left chrome strip on the right, it will fit the lamp but not the car - the strip hits the door panel. Did you try some of these ones???? I did notice that walking past my E60 yesterday, the side repeaters looked identical to the E90x ones! Mike |

I thought I'd found some but they had the chrome strip through them(some have the M badge on the tip of the chrome section too).
Not a look I want so back to the search... |

Not found anything yet, but here are the E90 / E91 together you can see the difference in location of the hole for the bulb
The E90 one is not OEM mind. Shame the colour of the smoked bit really matched the darkline lights |

If you are going to DIY then here's a suggestion, if you can prise the lens from the unit you can spray the backing plate (side facing outwards not shown) matt black then you will only need a light tint for the lens itself. This was how the aftermarket repeater was done and matched the darkine rears really well.
I'll get onto this soon but got a Dension 500 today so I'm gonna play with that first |

Ok may have given you lot the run around. I have had it confirmed that the E91 side repeaters are the same BMW p/n as the E90 therefore any aftrmarket repeaters E90 should also fit the E91. The ones I bought were cheapies from ebay and were obviously not fit for either E90 or E91.
In the meantime I've found these:- http://www.bimmian.com/LSL/9X Has anyone got these and can perphaps comment on them as they are a little pricey and as far as I know can only be got from the states. - I hope to be corrected and told I can buy them locally! |

I've got the same ones, there f*ckers to fit and need some adjustment with a stanley knife blade to fit in the space available. Once fitted they flop around like a cock in a bowler hat! Try these, apparently they are much better than the Bimmian ones, that's what Tom at EAS reckons, there also a lot cheaper. http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...t-e9x-3-series |

I've e-mailed Tom as I'll be in New York over the new year.
It might be an option to buy beforehand and get some of the repeaters sent to my hotel.I could send them on from the UK. Sounds difficult to sort over the new year, but any thoughts? |
