windshield wipers dont spray :(

So they were working last week. Today when I pulled back the right toggle it squirted and didnt spray anything else. When I tried again nothing. I cant hear if the pump is working over the noise of the engine.

Has anyone had this problem before? What trouble shooting should I try?

I just bought the car a month ago

Has the temperature dropped and is the fluid protected from freezing?

Is there a puddle of fluid under the car? If so, perhaps a hose has fallen off or there is a blockage somewhere in the system.

And (of course) I assume you checked that there is fluid in the reservoir.

First step is to check your fuses

If fuses are fine, turn on power without starting the car and have someone toggle the washer fluid arm while you look and listen under the hood, could be a dead pump or a disconnected or cracked line.

Did it recently freeze since they last worked?

Nah - but I am worried that with the coming temperature drop, I'm likely to hear the mysterious chime and see that damn snowflake again, whatever that means!

Thanks for the reply guys! Yup I checked the reservoir (funny thing is BMW told me the same thing) No leakage under the car. It has gone below 0 degrees a few nights but its been in the double digits this week.

Where should I be listening for the pump? Im going to try to see if I hear the pump when I press the toggle.

Thanks again guys ill update tomorrow

On a side note....I purchased my car with 54,000 about a month ago and it already has close to 57,000 on it... I just LOVE driving this car!!!

anyhoo enough about my sexual obsession with my car :P

Well today I go do some trouble shooting and click the toggle and a tiny squirt of washerfluid comes out but then stops. (better then the last few days where nothing cme out So I go open the hood and click the toggle again and it sprays normal! I dont get it, I started the car on and off all day and its working great now.

Im so confused, I just hope it keeps working good
