How my obsession with BMW started..

So I was at my parents for Thanksgiving and came across some boxes of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars I had when I was a kid.

Ever since I saw the E30 when I was 3-4 years old, I was hooked. Here are a couple of the BMW Hot Wheels I had, my fave was the black E30 M3 convertible.

How did you guys get started with your addiction to BMW?

Well, my mom got a new alpine white 5 series back in 94' when I was 11. So that's when I took notice of BMW, particularly vs. the giant tank S600 Mercedes and the E class.

Very shortly after, my biggest car obsession with any one car model to this date ensued. The e36 M3. I knew it was a great looking car, but I noticed these cars that stood out from the sea of other e36 coupes I saw, mainly due to the much sleeker M3 side mirrors and the tri color badge. I had no freakin clue what M meant or how it was different other than visual things, but I knew it was something special. I never got that car, because I got my sisters 3 coupe when she moved to NYC for college, but I am sure I'll own one in the future as a childhood memory thing. I was so tempted to buy a pristine loaded cosmos on black 99' with like 36k miles on the odometer last year but couldn't justify buying garage space to keep a car I wouldn't drive much.

My dad bought a 02 X5 4.8i that got me hooked on BMWs.

I will do the same for my kid as you. Already have the BMW bear that will be in the crib.

Congrats on the baby.

Mine started with my buddy's 2002tii that he had in high school. It was about four years old and really nice (I think bad was the term we used in the 70's). Wanted a BMW every since.

Getting my little Jr. (grandson) addicted early. He loves my 335
