I wouldn't have thought the gap would have been as great between the two standard cars !
Impressive for the 335i ! !

The gap is very little once tuned though .....

There is a video that shows the dials next to each other if you search youtube 335i vs 335d (I can't do it from this computer) and the 335i does turn the dial a bit quicker..

I dont understand most the 335d owner. There are so many people out there that own a 335d and only do 15k per year.

The real cost saving is really not that high especially when you consider that the 335D cost more to buy (used) in the first place.

I can definatley understand a tuned 335d though. 500+tq must make for a very easy drive. I prefer the noise and delivery of the petrol engine though.

Love the way the M3 closes easily on the 335d and 335i in the side by side on the motorway. I'd expect a 335i to be quicker than a 335d taken on a like-for-like basis. In addition, the petrol sounds great, whereas the diesel doesn't. Both are great cars mind you.

I immediately thought this was an E90 M3 (due to the bonnet bulge). But is it me or does it not sound like one? Also, it's an automatic (not DCT) by the sounds of things and catches a lot faster than I would of thought..

Edit * It's not an M3 More like a highly tuned 335i with Rob Beck blowers and meth.. No wonder it caught up so fast.. lol

Very strange video.

In my own experience in comparing the vehicles with other forum members, that there is no difference in the performance of the two cars when standard and also re-mapped.

Only when the 335i has 420+Hp does it pull away like that from the 335d.

here is a vid of a re-mapped 335d vs a standard 335i, with a camera in. If they were not identical standard then the 335d would not pull away like this modified.

This next one is a re-mapped 335d vs re-mapped 335i...

335d 345-350HP
335i 400HP
