Rotors and pads for a e92 328xi?
So I've searched for forums for a bit but haven't found much outside of a few bits of info.
I've been looking for rotor/pad replacements for a little while, as I think my 15000 maintenence ones are almost up, and I'm pretty sick of the constant brake dust from the OEM pads - I don't readily have a running water supply so I can't clean it whenever I desire. Does anyone have any suggestions for a set or separate parts? I've been thinking about drilled/slotted rotors but I'm not sure if the cost over the OEM ones would be worth it for general/spiriting driving (70% city, 30% highway). Thanks! |

Drilled and/or slotted rotors are not going to make much of a difference in city driving, well beyond the visual enjoyment when you get out of the car take a few steps away and look back at her. We carry Genuine BMW and Pilenga standard rotors and our ECS Drilled and Slotted rotors for the front of your car. But only our standard Genuine BMW, Zimmerman, and Meyle for the rears.
As for brake pads, I run EBC Green Stuff pads on my daily driver. I do not notice a high amount of brake dust from them. They have plenty of bite and are not noisy on my car. You can find the options for the front of your car here and the options for the rear of your car here Please let us know if you have any questions! Feel free to shoot me a PM or email. just replaced front and rear brakes last week. I went with x-drilled and slotted rotors from brakeperformance.com and powerstop ceramic evolution pads. so far so good. Def not noticing the brake dust on the wheels like the factory setup.
Braking performance is not quite there yet because the zinc plating haven't fully wore off the rotors and still need to bed the rotors. |
