Just a question, does anyone know where the media CIC hard drive is located and if it is easily accessable. I would like to try to get into the files to see if the maps can be updated manually via a PC. I was able to get into most older Garmins units as well as Nuvi's and install 2012 maps in them. If anyone has any helpful info that would be great.

For those of you having trouble unzipping BMW_Nav_East_2012.1.zip, I am here to report that Stuffit Expander for Mac OS will successfully unzip the East DVD ISO.

I have not tried any Windows utilities, but if I had to hazard a guess, I would say give Stuffit Expander for Windows a try as I'm sure it uses the same algorithm as the Mac version.

I assume you're referring to BMW_Nav_East_2012.1.zip.torrent. I'm not sure what's going wrong on your end, but I just tried re-downloading, and within 30 seconds I had 2 seeds giving me over a megabyte per second down, and my torrent client is restricted to encrypted peers only.

Hmm maybe its something with my ip, I will bring my laptop to my friends and try it. It starts then says permission denied.

Ahhh Problem was on my side, this is a new Mac and I forgot to reset the download permissions, it was the first torrent I tried on this one.

I have a 2004 325i with Navigation (DVD) (Non iDrive). Will this disc work with it? If not can anyone direct me to the correct 2012 version? From reading the pasts posts it looks like this is only for cards 2006 and new or iDrive. Thank You

i had a issue.i downloaded & burned .iso to imgburn using dvd -r at 2x speed.says turn off for 5 min. then after 5 min. it says disk error?
i have a 2008 335i fyi

Do you have a 5 series? I dont think its that easy, there is a lot of wiring, and also the 5 had two different screens, one for the nav and one for the non nav.

Burned East version to single layer (no need for double) DVD+R using ImgBurn at 4x and it works great in my 2008 BMW. Also download the East version with the cams, and that one works fine too. Thanks guys, lets do this again in 2013!!

Be careful when you go to the dealer and get updates. They charged me and didn't even update mine. They even kept my car for a second day because the first time they said it didn't go through.

cams=red light cameras. and typically speed trap locations.
