I hope there is a way to find that too .. I dropped off my car at the dealer this morning with the understanding they are going to update my idrive with the new update (I told them I had problem with the pop up arrows). I get a call back later in the day from the tech saying that he went into irdive and changed the setting that would take care of it. I told him "there is no setting to change I have gone through every setting." then he says he will look into it more. Calls me back again saying what I am looking for requires a NAV disk and I would have to order it!!! I swear I just wanted to bitch him out. I told him calmly I made the appointment with the supervisor with the understanding they are going to update the idrive software! Lets see what he calls back with. I may need to print out the damn TSB and show those fools.

Question Progman version?

Hi,

New owner to bmw's and i've been lurking and searching. Very informative site.

I found the sequence of i-drive clicks needed to get into the diagnostics screen on my 07 335 sedan. I want to find out what version of progman i have. However, this post refers to target data status which I can't find anywhere. I have items like c-host, applikation, etc.

If it helps, it says build date 21-03-2007 in almost all the screens.

Can somebody please help me figure out how to determine what progman version I have?

Thanks!

There is no way to check PROGMAN version in iDrive equipped vehicles. Claims to the contrary are just not valid. Any success in this regard has only been attributed to non iDrive cars, but I cannot independantly verify that.

Only the dealer can tell you by hooking you up to his equipment or by delivery spec if you have not upgraded since taking delivery of new car.

Build dates of 03/07 and newer will have PROGMAN v25.xx.xx

Here is a pdf on the E9x series PROGMAN versions since SOP.

Also included the introduction SIBs which may capture your build dates and provide you with some information IF your build date coincides with the dates contained therein. Unfortunately, I did not save the Nov 06 bulletin of SIB 000206.

Thanks a lot! It seems like I have 25.01 since my RTTI and VR commands work. I also have the new colors and POI search capabilities.

How do you get the SIB pdf's? Are they posted on here somewhere?

Thanks.

When speaking with service techs its important to very literal. If you want to upgrade the I drive software it is the disk. When you want to upgrade the total software it's the Program Software.

I wonder how up to date cars on the assembly line are in getting the most recent Progman versions. For instance do the June built cars get the latest Progman from March and then are updated at the Vehicle Preparation Center? Or not updated at all or maybe they get the latest Progman on the assembly line.

The DVD contains only the map data from Navteq. There is no iDrive 'software' on the DVD.

I suppose if you cannot "save picture as" and then use in paint or other photo program I suppose you could use this Adobe file.

It seemed to on other software ( it would open in new window and could zoom to be legible) - didn't realize it would not here as well. Oh well, I assume the adobe was satisfactory?
