Angry Professional help needed...

This is a last picture I took before the accident...

After accident on 12/31/2011...

I thought its gonna be ok...

the shop told me if this wheel was fake accident would've been bigger...

wheels are not straight anymore

oil leaking

the shop estimated $28,000+ to fix it...

I'm in korea but the car is from North America... so most of parts has to import from US..

no one wants to buy my car... even the dealer or any other shop...

I'm about to sell my car for $2000... what should I do...?

What exactly happened? From the pictures, I'd think it was only cosmetic damage but looks like engine components were damaged as well?

I wish I had some advice for you. When it comes to cars, Korea is just a whole different ball game than US. Importing parts from NA just doesn't make much sense to me that seems unnecessary and the "fake" wheels thing would have made it worse thing makes all this sound fishy and makes me believe the shop is pulling your chain in some way or another. IMO fake wheels could have broken and absorbed some of the impact unlike a sturdy "real" wheel. My advice would be get a second opinion! but again, I know little about South Korean auto business. I know it sucks without your car but take your time don't make quick decisions. Investigate. You can take that to the bank.

ok idk somewhere on this forum i have photos of my car before i started to work on it. hit in same spot but 10x worse

what i see in your photos is fender bumper maybe a core support and a frame job then re paint.. cost about 3k-4k MAX if your buying all new parts even shipping over seas. for 28k man u can ship ur car over here fly here and fix it for less and ship it back thats bull crap on the price unless there going to gold plate it and add diamonds ever where

ya it does sound fishy. I'd get a second opinion.

28k is not USD is it?

it looks like there is "some" engine damage, but not major and does not justify paying more than what a new engine would cost.

it looks like oil leak from the oil cooler, some structural damage, but the core of the engine and the transmission is fine. i don't get it. ask the shop to itemize the cost to see how he got to 28k.

I'm wondering if the shop is trying to make the damage seem worse than it is so you'll sell the car for next to nothing, while unbeknownst to you the buyer is working with the shop, and they plan to fix it and make a huge profit.

Because 28k in damage seems a little excessive and 2k for selling it is really low for a car in that condition.

Honestly, I've seen 335i with worse front end accidents and they didn't have any engine damage. I'd definitely get a second opinion for your car. 2k is way too low to sell for that car. Why is your right fender cut up like that?

I was involved in somewhat similar an accident, I got hit turning on the front right tire. Required a new strut and realignment job; cost was about 2000 bucks or so plus new M-tech bumper. I doesn't seem reasonable for that kind of price; and I don't see why they cut up the front of your car so much. If you can, definitely get a second opinion or even go to the dealer to see how much they would fix it for? How much will your insurance cover? Good luck, I'd ship the car back to the US before I'd take that kind of massive loss.

it is probably cheaper to ship it back to america, and have it fixed here, and sell it. That's the best advice i can give you.

Must be 28k won!

Actually your car is from Germany so parts are much closer then getting them from the US.

Yeah, you should have slapped whoever told you it costs $28k. It sounds way too fishy.

No sarang hae! 2k is too low bro. Find out how much to ship to america. My old 335i was worst than that and it was 30k to fix the WHOLE FRONT+ NEW ENGINE. This is less than 28k man. GOODLUCK!
