25.01.01 issues
I got my car updated the other day to address a number of complaints, the main ones being the arrow display on Navi and static on my FM radio reception.
They told me I got the latest but didn't quote a version. After the update: - Different skin/color theme I don't like it, but the fonts are nicer. The entertainment colors are just plain shit-house IMO. Then again I didn't like the old entertainment colors either - but these are worse- Better improved, more functional POI - I-Drive remembers your last screen and goes there direct after the lawyer screen ![]() - More static on my FM radio than ever before  - VERY SLOW navigation - zooming in and out of maps really sux ass ![]() Can anyone else with the current/latest progman comment? Is your Navigation display slow/clunky and do you have a lot of static on your FM radio ?

1 - Color scheme - I think it's worse too. I liked the old map colors. The font is a little smaller, but still good IMO.
Interesting, since iDrive boots up a little faster, if the map was your last screen, you can see that iDrive first draws the old map color scheme and has units set to meters by default. Then the new color scheme is drawn on top of it, and my units switch to miles. Very odd. 2 - POI is way, way better now. Searching POI by name is a huge improvement. 3 - Yes, iDrive remembers where you were and goes back there. Much improved. Also, I appreciate not having to click "accept" each time I start the car. 4 - My FM radio does not have more static. It works fine. 5 - Nav is about the same speed as before, but map zooming in/out is slower. I noticed that, too.

My 330i was built 2/06, the dealer just up dated mine to 25.02. It fix every complaint I had with poor VC and slow nav. It aso fix several grimlins I had with CA auto mirror retraction, seat posion memory etc. Now my bluetooth stopped working so as soon as I get back in town I have to bring it back in and I hope the fix is going to be simple but the update for the most part was a very great improvment.

About 5% of the time when I go to the Nav's address book, the letters at the appear backwards along with a '$' mixed in the middle somewhere. I'll take a picture of it one of these days. It shows up something like this...
ZY.W.V.UTSRQP.NMLKJ.$IHGFEDCBA

^^ that's with v25? That is an old issue, and you may want to search. I can't remember the solution, but I thought it was fixed with a s/w update a while back.

The color schem is an irrelevant change -- wasted ROI. I wish the engineers would focus on improvements, not fluff to disguise flaws.
about the same speed overall, but it seems slower when scrolling to different sat radio presets. As I've mentioned previously, I think that the POI addition is a minor improvement since the fundamental flaw of heirarchial searching has not been corrected |

Yep, it's v25. I have the new color scheme, the name based POI search, etc so I know it's v25. It was updated like 2 weeks ago.

After using it for several days now, I feel like the new update is actually generally slower in many aspects of the Navigation mode, not just changing the map.
On the flip side, I am finding that the voice entry of addresses is much more reliable than before. It seems now that I have a reliable method that allows full entry by voice, whereas I used to get cut off part way down the address. |
