2010 328xi rotors and drive shaft

Good day,

I'm about to buy a 2010 328xi with 60k km on it. Inspection revealed it has warped rotors and a seized drive shaft bolt. Is this normal for a car with low mileage to have these two problems at the same time or is it a sign that it has been driven hard for a long period of time?

This was a turned in lease and bought off a dealer auction through a dealer. If the repairs are too expensive, will have to make the seller pay for the repairs or give the car back.

Rotors at that mileage is not unexpected. Don't know about the drive shaft bolt.

It looks like the U-Joint is seized and need replacing but cannot get a clear quote. Dealer says it will be either 500$ or 2000$. Not sure if I want to buy this car now as it will be an extra 3000$ on top of the price, including the body work. I might just pass and look for something better.

That's the thing, I didn't technically buy the car yet. The dealer bought it for me from a dealer auction web site and there were nothing mentioned about any technical issues. Now that he did an inspection that's what has been found and he would do the repair and add the cost onto the cost of the car so that 17k price tag will have another 3k added to it as he quoted me 900$ for rotors and possibly 2000$ for the drive shaft. There's also some minor body work that needs to be done which would be another 400-500$.

Technically I didn't sign anything except the financing pre-approval so I can just walk away from the deal but that would leave the dealer with the car. Although at that price I'm sure he could make a profit on the car.

Rotors I would suggest buying new ones and pads from an online store like bmaparts or oembimmerparts and getting it done at an Indy shop. I had the same problem w the u joint seizing and dealer did the job w 1.5 hours labor and matched price of part from getbmwparts.com. Ended up just under $400. Not sure about the body work or price ur paying on the car.
