winter mpgs

I thought they were worse due to oxygenated fuel? My car did 32.x this weekend for over 200 miles. It hasn't done that since new. The only service as of late was the hpfp recall, and the battery was replaced, and I did the air filter, but that was even before the hpfp recall, probably in Sept. I wonder if the software was updated or anything, but I doubt it. Only other thing I can think of are the snows are on...

Consumption on my 325 is doo doo. First winter where it was really bad (I'm talking 13-14L/100km vs. 10L/100km, don't know what that is MPG?) Once spring comes around, probably have to do some maintenance (air filter, spark plugs, etc.)

Here is a good conversion page to bookmark.

13-14 L/100km = 16-18 MPG
10L/100km = 23 MPG.

Last tank I got a 4,987 L/100km = 47 MPG last tank.
Running Michellin X-ice North tires 205/55-16 (X-large) and it was 100% rural roads driving at around 100 kph/65mph. Normally its around 6L/100km/39 MPG in mixed driving/commuting. Diesel FTW.

My car did 29.5MPG on a 600 mile road trip this past weekend. You must be using cruise control? I barely used it but when i did the MPG went as high as 34MPG.

Aren't winter and summer blends now essentially the same since the nearly universal year round use of E10 has replaced MTBE?

I know that my local stations no longer have the "Oxygenated Fuel" stickers.

So it would seem that city mileage might decrease a bit due to longer warm-up times, but highway mileage should be pretty much the same.

mine is ass on my 325i right now. it used to be 20 when i first got it, but now its dropping slowly. it was 18.3 yesterday i look today and it dropped .3! :sad:

winter fuel blows, over spring-fall, i get mid 20's and i would have a few notches over 1/4 tank on my 250 mile weekly commute. My best was 2 notches down the halfway tank mark, but i drove like a great-granny... Now it's either a notch over or almost run down to reserve.

Could have been a tailwind. My full size GMC sierra did 28MPG over Christmas break with a tailwind.
