e92 320d fuel economy

Hi guys, im getting around 30mpg while driving in town and some driving on roads with max 50mls.
I know I wont reach the BMWs 41mph, but was expecting a bit more when I sold my 325i which gave me 22mpg on the same roads.
What are you guys getting and what can this be down to?
cheers

I've got a 2010 320D and I get around 43 average. Get around 50-55 with some longer journeys. 30 seems quite low, but if it's all small trips it will be.

I have just reset the average mpg and speed. I believe though it was below 30mls. I will go for a 50 mls drive on A3 tomorrow, so I`l see what Im gonna get on a motorway. And will have a close look on the coolant temp

so had a 50 mls journey yesterdsy with speeds up to 60 onA406, few stop & gos. With everything reset I got average 38.1 , with average speed 28mls.
The coolant however dint cross the 89C. It went quickly to 80C. When stationery, still didnt go above 89C. Is that ok? Or do I need a thermostat change?

89C seems ok, mine runs between 89 - 92 & I usually average around 47 mpg with 50 - 55 on the motorway, but I'm rarely in queues or heavy traffic.
50 miles, up to 60 mph, stop go & average 28 mph doesn't sound the most economical of journeys but 38 still seems a little low. Do you have a manual or auto, if it's the latter you're probably not that far out.
