Solar Panel Inside e90?

Has anyone attempted to install a solar panel in their car to provide an alternative power source to the dc port in the arm rest?

I have a bluetooth music receiver which requires power, this is a pain when my car is parked and off. To listen to music I have to keep the ignition on to provide power. Sometimes I get a low battery signal if I've been using it too long.

I was wondering if anyone has attempted this or if there are shops that could this?

Thanks

haha shit.. okay let me try to explain this better

Has anyone tried to use a solar panel like one of these: http://www.batterystuff.com/solar-chargers/ to provide constant power to their dc plugs?

The bluetooth receiver will consume much less power than the audio system. How long do you listen to music with the engine off?

If you listen to music more than 30 minutes at a time with the engine off, I would invest in a deep cycle battery with a higher reserve capacity, like an Optima. As well as a tender because your car will NEVER fully charge the battery.

A car maintains a battery, it doesn't charge it.

A solar panel will not do much in this case because it's the audio system and all the other accessories in the car that are draining the battery, not the bluetooth receiver.

Btw the highest option you can program the car for is 110Ah, I believe.

FYI

http://www.amazon.com/BMW-Solar-Batt.../dp/B004QDAPOI

This is more intended to trickle charge the battery.

You could make a cable that went directly to the OBD 2 port
I think there is live battery power there that isn't switched.

These cars seem be battery hogs.
