First off, thank you soooo much for keeping the N52 research and tuning going strong!!!

For the 330i, is there anything more than subjective or anecdotal evidence of gains?

So far, all I have seen is a dyno of one 330i with an aftermarket intake and one that cuts out at 6k... A 'proper' dyno on a stock 6MT would be great. Even better would be a 0-60 or 1/4 mile before/after run .

You have many interested, on the fence, customers here. But, being that many (like me) are nowhere near any semblence of an AA-affiliated tuner, it'd be an $800 tune & a tool I might only ever use once and isn't re-sellable.

How big of a difference is everything in comparison with a stock 328?

Significant enough that I don't miss my WRX any more

My experience is not going to be the same as others due to the altitude here in backwards Boulder, CO. It drives closer to, possibly better than at sea level. The gains seem to be significant at higher RPMs, but the entire package is much more pleasing at all RPM ranges.

If you are having doubts, I'd recommend getting the tune, especially if you can get it for $499 or less.

Once the only shop with AWD dyno re-opens, I'm headed there for some quantified data.

Take a look at the European versions of the N52 in the 3-series, one of them makes around 270 hp directly from BMW.

This is from the Deutschland car configurator

The N52 is designated by a displacement of 2996 ccm. One makes 218 and the other 272. Our NA N52 motors make either 215, 230, 255, or 260 depending on vehicle applications.

Is that your car? Very nice but what's with the shift knob?

Yes, that's my car.

Jafster shift knob. It's perfect for the track. It puts the shifter closer to the steering wheel and extra leverage for very easy shifts.
Plus, I have Sparco seats in my car and sit about 2" lower so my elbow hits the center console if I use the stock shift knob.
I also have the Rogue Engineering SS, which is perfect.

Most of my buddies made fun of the shift knob because it wasn't a super short shifter and was "so long."
Then they tried it and are now ordering it for their own car.

Nice Rob, Looking forward to hearing how the tune is. Let me know.

Also yes the knob is very phallic but functional.

This was a bit of a fail, lol. Rob had to get off to a personal commitment so we didn't have a chance to finalize the calibration. I will chat with him tomorrow to schedule a date for return!
