I ran a 14.8 @ 99mph (no rollout) in my 325 according to my performance box. on a drag strip you line up 1ft behind the start line hich gives slightly better but more consistent times. Not sure what effect it has on trap speed. That was a 3500rpm drop-clutch launch with 6800 rpm shifts.

Thats impressive for a 325. Was your car bone stock with just the AA tune?

It was with AA stage 1 tune, 3-stage intake manifold, Dinan exhaust, Performance intake.

Without the 325 having a 3 stage manifold yes. A 325 with a 3 stage I would have to say no.

Hey Andrew... I thought the 328 has a single stake manifold? When I swapped mine this weekend, the manifold didn't have anything that could open or close anything within it like the 3-stage.

This is why its called a single stage intake manifold. No actuators, no nothing.

The 3 stage has both openings for the actuators.

Correct! But I saw a post above or on a previous page with Andrew stating the 328 has a (2) stage manifold...

All good, just making sure I missed something when looking at my 'former' manifold.

Just got the AA tune done today on my stock 330. I haven't pushed the car too hard yet, and i see little improvement. Hopefully it will get better after it adjusts in a few hundred miles or so...

I never saw a 2 stage intake manifold from my own eyes, but following the logic between the single and the 3 stage, I would say that the 2 stage got a single opening for one actuator.

So based on what you pulled, you had a single stage.

I have not personally removed a manifold from a 328 but from looking at realeom.com it seems the 325/328 have the same manifold part numbers.

Before I get my tune next Friday I was wondering to what the rev limiter is raised to. And what is the rev limit on a stock car?

We raise it to 7000 Rpm your stock rpm is 6500-6800 depending on gear and load.

You dont want to go over 6800 with that engine anyway.

I passed the redline a couple times and realized why BMW set it at 6800

So i got my AA tune done last week on my 330 and my redline is still at 7,000. I thought on the 330's it is raised to 7,300 and speed governor removed?

Please let me know.

There is a really sharp drop in power after 6500 rpm.

Yep, your rpm keep getting higher, but it feels like your power is cutting off.

So even if they raised it or not, you dont want to go there

7000rpm is a good redline. 6800 is where you should shift for straight line speed but the 200rpm over-rev is nice on the track. Gear spacing is really large in the 325 so there's really only one gear that works for each turn. If there's a short run between turns shifting may be slower than just taching the car out because of the lost acceleration while the clutch is in. This is not so much an issue in autos and semi-autos.
