Cobra

Most likely not. Only a select few need this update. If you would like us to double check the software in your vehicle please send me an email with your information. Afish@activeautowerke.com

So 330i with BMW performance exhaust and performance intake running 91 octane would receive the same tune as a stock 328i running 93 octane?

Are the tunes the same or do I just provide those details when i order and you guys tweak it slightly? Car only has 33,000 miles will this tune hurt it at all? run lean? affect engine life negatively?

Thanks guys! looking forward to grabbing this!

No they are not the same. There are absolutely no negative effects. In fact we have never received or heard of any engine issues with our tune installed.

I was looking at the AFR from a stock N52 328 Dyno, N52 330 Dyno and compared it to AA tune Dyno. Seems like these cars (specifically 328's) like to run lean in stock form until about 5K RPMS and even considerably lean after that. Someone correct me if I am wrong but that is typical of a somewhat high revving NA engine. The AA tune AFR seems to be very similar to stock settings while running a little more rich near 4.7K RPM until the redline. IMO if the car was running way too lean or too rich, the sensors would throw a code (not sure if this is 100% true).

Andrew, to my understanding this updated tune is still running a little more rich than stock AFR near the redline or does it run a little more lean than stock at redline?

Andrew, Like I said, the car is running superb with mods that were made by AA, it feels like its pushing between 260-275 hp w/93 depending on the weather, Is that possible? What kind of HP was the dyno'd 328 with revision 3 making?

Email with my info sent BTW.

I tuned cobra's car today. I didn't have a chance to drive it after but it sure felt and sounded great before.

Anyway Simon tools are back in stock and all back orders are being shipped out today!

Andrew, Thanks for updating my Active Autowerke stage 2 tune to revision 3 My car was performing superb before the update and to be honest I didn't really think I would notice more performance.......but to my surprise the 3-5k area is really impressive its hard to believe Im driving a naturally aspirated power-plant, it almost feels like it has a low boost supercharger! Who needs Euro tuners from Germany when we have you guys!

My n52 was reprogrammed by the dealer in January. After Zak sent me a new tuned file my car ran better than ever. Turns out I have revision 3! AA really nailed this motor.

Did they tell you they updated the software or did you notice when you left the dealership?

When a dealer updates your Ecu it "should" be on work order they give you when picking up the car.

Ok thanks. I really don't want them to "update" anything unless it is absolutely necessary. I finally got this car to where I wanted it.

I usually tell my SA that I like the way the car drives and to not update the car without giving me a call first.

I had an idrive issue that required a total car reprograming. I was told/asked to come back to the dealership early in the morning and giving a loaner. The reprograming took all day.

Andrew, if I do an adaptation reset on my car using inpa, will that affect my tune at all?

Any adaptation resets you can recommend?

I scotch tape a written sign to the steering wheel not to flash the ECU when it's at the stealership.

No it will not mess with the tune at all. What are you using to clear the adaptions?

Phozenstone brings up a great point...........Guys, after you tune your cars, the ECM has to adapt to the new tune. Let me tell you from experience with several tunes, Drive your car hard!!!!! romp on it as much as you can the first week you'll be really happy with the result.
