All I know is I'm very impressed with the N52 with the max mods.....under the right conditions with the right custom fuel mix 97 octane It feels like just shy of 280-285 hp. To be honest I really dont feel that much difference in power than a 335 0-80 mph. I live in South Florida, at sea level and on occasion like today cool 60 degrees and 50% humidity make for optimal performance with my N52.

Both would apply to the above, but have seperate clearing/adaptation procedures. Both should be hard cleared (through a diag tool) after new software is made for best results.

Also updating the EGS sometimes gets rid of a laggy shift, or in some cases a slipping converter feel. First things to check in AT for those symptoms is infamous leaks and out of date software. IMO EGS and ECU updates should ALWAYS be peformed in tandem if available (as per our procedures here at Bimmersport). I know a bit OT but food for thought.
So there are seperate complete adaptations for 'D' and 'DS'?

No. Clearing adapations and learned variables will reset all modes of the EGS.

Yeah that's what I'm asking. Reset all modes meaning there are in fact separate adaptations for D and DS?

If DS is driven hard and adapts to that would it dyno higher than D?

If im way off base sorry for wasting your time I was just confused.. Thanks!

Just got this done 2 days ago on my 328xi with n51. Thought I would throw my opinion in. I'm loving it, I figured I would not really notice it but I definitely did. The revs, gear changes, being able to hit the gas pedal and just take off. Well worth the Money for our cars

Question though. The best way to help it adapt better is drive hard? And for how long

Hey Andrew, I need to take my car in for a software update to fix the blower motor (Talk about a random problem, it'll either blow the wrong temp, or choose not to come on at all ).

Should/will I need use the Simon Tool to extract it again for modifications, or is that part of the ECU not impacted?

If they updated the Ecu you will need to re read the car and send it to us for re tuning.

Andrew would you be able to send the file to EAS in Anaheim CA?

I see you have a place in oceanside but Anaheim in quite a bit closer. I know EAS has a dyno and have done other software installs.

Thanks.

Sorry Eas is not a dealer for our products. Oceanside Motors Sports is a great place though and I highly recommend them. Neil will get you in and out quick and painless.

Would we expect this to dyno the same as a 330i? or something different?

Andrew, wow I'm very excited to hear about the results! please let us know the details of the conversion as this is the next mod I want you guys to do to my 328.

What year 328?, Does he have any mods done to it, tune, exhaust, air intake?

Will you guys going to be writing a special tune for this conversion or will you be using the current 2.3 tune?

As you know I've done the AA exhaust, 2.3 tune and charcoal filter delete and my 328 is performing awesome. Did you guys order in all the parts or did the customer? Also give me an idea of what the cost would be for the complete conversion....parts, labor...etc.

Thanxs.......Cobra out.

Yes we will have a tune specifically for the conversion. We did not source the parts for the customer and I believe he got them from a 330.

It came in with 175 and left with 201 whp. We will post up a thread dedicated to this topic soon.

So does that mean the stage 2 tune I got last week is not for the conversion? When I spoke to Viral over the phone prior to getting it done and explained that I installed the 3 stage intake manifold, my understanding from him is that stage 2 was for that.

The tune we just made is for the 328 with the 3 stage manifold conversion. The 325 and 328 have different ecu's so you still have the best software available for your car at the moment. However the 325 and 330 share the same ecu and we have dyno tuned the 325 to the 330 settings plus some additional tweaks so I doubt there is much left on the table for the 325 conversion crowd.
