Andrew,

I've been told by a local guy that after this tune (he had stage 1) using the kickdown switch can throw the car into limp mode - should using kickdown be avoided with this tune, or only used from a dead stop, have you heard/experienced this before, etc?

Thanks!

I know Andrew can tune it too have more throttle response than HP if that's what you like. One day I'm going to ask 70% throttle 30% HP.

Andrew are simon tools VIN locked?

Well, I used the kickdown last night about 4 or 5 times with no problems at all, other than my missing roundel of course.

This morning the throttle response felt fine, I may ask you guys to bump it a bit but let me get used to it. The best part of the tune is the fact that the the car just feels lighter. It feels like it revs easier and just runs better. On my drive to work this morning it just felt effortless, like it went on a massive weight loss program. Overall I am very happy.

Oh and I reset my mileage etc right after I flashed and I am getting about 1.5 miles to the gallon better gas mileage, even with all the runs I did last night. Crazy.

Why would increased horsepower have anything at all to do with throttle resonse??? They're completely different things.

+1. No issues at all with kickdown and the car DOES feel lighter. Feels a lot more like my '06 330i did. Just miss the RWD I had in that car.

Well some people complained of it being to twitchy so we found a middle area that will suit 99% of owners.

Never heard of this.. The kick down button is a great feature we would never want left out.

Yes Simon are vin locked. The maker of the tool will unlock them for around 190 euro.

99% of people are wrong.

If I remember right, the auto trans has 3 modes. Normal, Sport, and Sport+. In Drive you get the first two and in DS you get Sport & Sport+. The mode you're in depends in part on how aggresive you are with the throttle. I'm not sure if it takes lateral acceleration into account as well.

Just flashed the most recent tune over previous stage 2. Car is smoother in the middle of the power band and ever so slightly quicker. If this is the last revision I wouldn't be surprised.

Kick down is actually really easy with the 6mt. Get 'em while you can

will this work with 95 and 98 octane fuel?
do the results differ?

here in Lebanon ( middle east ) that's the only fuel grade we have

We only have the same in Europe aswell, however, Viral@Autowerke confirmed it works on 95 octane. Didn't ask for 98 oct, but I presume it will work.

I believe you have 98 ron which is comparable to our 93 oct.

Seems like a lot of people took advantage of the AA deal on the Simon. Any reviews? Let us know what model [325, 328 or 330] and if N51 or n52. Thanks!
