BMW Extended Warrenty

Ok guys.. questions.. I have a garage queen.. 2010 328i X drive m pkg, bought brand new.. park it in garage from oct to april (I have a jeep for winter)

parked it this oct with 4,000 miles. (its trickle charging etc) stored by all of your suggestions. TY - I guess I'm running 2 grand a year or?

Was tossing the idea of obtaining an extended warr from BMW

approx 3500 6yr 100k or 7 yr 70k 50 ded
and
BMW maint 6/100k 1800

good deal? do I bother? yes.. I plan on keeping it.. till the very end.. (title in hand-now) - or keep the 3-4 grand in the bank collect 0% and pay for repairs if I ever get miles on it past the 4/50k

appreciate comments from ppl who had BMW warranty..

No need for an extended warranty with the kind of mileage you put on her. Save the money and keep it maintained with yearly oil changes. Then go buy yourself a nice Jenny G cd with all the money you saved. Good luck

I have about 11k miles on my '08 E91. I just bought the 7-year 70k BMW extended warranty. I didn't buy the maintenance agreement because I can do most of the routine maintenance myself in less time than it would take me to drive it to the dealer.

Under the original BMW warranty, my car has already accumulated repairs that totaled more than the price of the extended warranty. Just the steering angle sensor repair invoice was over $1k.

Unless there is an abrupt change in the slope of cost curve over the next 3 years it should be at least a break-even proposition. It's not the E9x mechanicals that scare me, it's the electronics and software. The electronics should suffer almost as much damage from the corrosive atmosphere if the car is driven 3k annually or 30k annually.

I'm sort of confused here. You park up a 328 "X-DRIVE" in the winter? Whats the point of that? Why not just drive it? It's AWD.

Bank the money and use it for repairs if needed. I would put it in some kind of money-making account or short term CD, you at least want to get some return on it.

Extended warranties are a sucker's bet on a good day, especially on the 328i.

And I second the guy who asked why did you get an Xi if you are going to park it all winter?? I didn't get AWD and my e91 IS my winter beater!

Thanks Guys

the x drive... with M pkg.. has summer use only tires.. I look at the x drive as a summer grip type of thing.. (I know i can get a winter wheel set up-- ) and one day I might... but for now I have a new jeep overland.. which is crazy nice..that I use in winter. (I don't drive to work, my cars are fun toys)

Ok if the extended is no difference in price from day one to 4/50k out.. I may as well wait. (if I get the extended)

FYI- my jeep extended was 900 bucks.. for 6yr 100k =) -- yes it's a chrysler..
