Anyone compare black OEM front spring perch to stock?

Saw these black OEM spring perches today and they're listed as fitting the E9x. I believe they are mostly used on Minis though:

Here's the typical "stock" perch found on the E9x:

I can't tell whether or not there's an overall height difference between the two, so there's no telling whether or not it would raise or lower front end height (like the OEM E30 or Supreme Power lowering perches would, respectively).

Given a deeper "pocket" and lack of "washer" when compared to the stock perch though, it would appear that the black perch should at least offer more suspension travel.

Thoughts?

That is the xdrive part number. I would guess it's a contributor to it's higher ride height.

In addition to the higher strut mounting point within the knuckle on the Xi, that could certainly be plausible.

I've experimented with this issue a lot. Bottom Line: The -9452 is for the x-drive. When used with the stock i strut mount, you will raise the front of your car about 1/8" and increase the preloaded spring tension slightly. Neither are anything to write home about, so I do not do it on the kits I build.
FWIW, do NOT use the i perch with the xi strut mount. There is risk of rubbing that could impact safety.
Yes, the xi model has a deeper "pocket" but the washer on the i model offsets any effect on overall ride height. Again, its about 1/8".
