an exception to the rule?...

It clearly states in the BMW Bible that under no circumstances shall one ever install red-accented center caps in the design style of the real BMW logo. However, on a Space Gray coupe with black winter rims and a Coral Red interior maybe somewhere there is an addendum being written or at least a one-time exception granted?

The only other option that looks ok besides stock is black and white.

Depends on the colour and finish I think. I've seen some pretty nice ones.

Definitely different I will say that much.

Couple mod tips:

-Painted front reflector (or change front bumper to M Tech)
-M3 Style or M tech side skirts
-M Tech rear bumper w/ Perf Diffuser
-Wrap window trim in gloss or matte black.
-H&R Sport springs if not ready to invest in coilovers, otherwise coilovers for sure.
-New wheels

Happy Modding.

I agree that looks horrible on any car. I saw a 750 at the mall with that shit done last week.. I'm thinking to myself the guy can afford a 750 but can't get a decent set of wheels?

Exactly 100% anticipated and expected reactions so thank you all for being unified and consistent.

That's not my car btw. BUT, for a winter wheel setup I've been considering black or anthracite paint or plasti-dip on a cheap set of wheels like this just to change it up. I want to hate the red and white center caps but I'm not sure I can bring myself to actually hate them. I KNOW I KNOW blaspemy heresy. That being said, I'll probably go with black and white, (maybe) carbon if I end up going dark with my winter rims.

My brake dust already achieves that look for free if I don't clean my rims at least once every 2weeks.

Agree with you 100%, I dipped my wheels black but used the rustoleum plastidip, which glosses and finished better. They came out awesome for my winters and would do it again! Tried a couple colors too! This particular flat black doesn't look great, but don't knock it until you try it!!

Black with metallizer, just playing with colors before I powdercoat. Plus for winter wheels, the dip protects them. I have multiple sets of rims, so dipping has nothing to do with whether or not you can afford wheels. There are some ghetto hack jobs out there, but if you do it right it looks good!

honestly, plastic dip can look good if you get the right product and apply it the right way. but if you don't do your research and you half ass the job than the results will show that. I am personally not a fan of flat black on anything these days. that was kinda a trend in 2007 lol

Smh, yeah it's like a rubber surf suit for your wheels when it's cold out! Lol no man, where I've lived in MD, NY and NJ, they coat the damn streets with liquid ice melt and salt.....that shit kills the clear coat on your wheels. Some folks actually drive their cars in the winter, and it's just a layer of protection. I've actually used glossifier on my old BBS rs-gt's I had a couple years ago, shit works like a charm on polished lips and spokes protecting from light road grime and pebbles.
