"the only reason that the AMC was used in the film was that it was the only car available at the time that weighed the exact amount for the infamous barrel roll jump to work.

The producers were not keen on it, but it was the only car that made the stunt possible..."

Btw, it happens every once in a while to my father's 5 also. So it quite common.
Just my 2 cents ... and to show that I still can write about BMW ;-)
Yeah I'll drive the car a bit, I won't let it stay without running for a full week. As I'm typing this, it's snowing outside... Now that's a depressing sight!

Get rid of the subwoofer, electric seats (Manual controls do fine), do the whole body in aluminium, remove some sound-deadening materials (Hey you want to hear that beast!), replace the spare tire with self-sealing tires at all corners, and you're a good way there...!

Hehe, I'm thinking of a car with lower mileage, not more... That said it kind of gives me hints as to what I could get for mine. Aren't you the one looking for a Bimmer wagon?

With all the freaking electronic controls, this car gets a little weird. I've had to disconnect the battery from time to time to clear stuff. I wish there was a better ctrl-alt-delete solution.

I had this issue where the driver window would not drop the 1/2cm when closing the door. Yep, gremlins. BMW had no idea. E90Posters had me lower the window and hold down for 30 sec and then raise to full, then lower fully and raise again et voila, petit gremlin exorcised.

Various limp modes and CEL gremlins were cleared with battery disconnect. Schitzo car.

Welcome Yorneb

This thread is quite the thread... It can sometimes grow by one or 2 pages in one day or a GAZILLION !

To the RACERS here :

I went to check out that BMW wagon I posted a link to with 131k on it yesterday and in teh garage I saw an E92 M3 (blacK) so I asked teh sales guy whose it was and he told me it was the owners. When we went to get teh X-plate for a test drive I ended up talking to the owner who is a BIGTIME racer . I had a good 20 minute talk about racing and tracks and he is a member of Tremblant race track. It costs him 5k per year with 23 open days available to him.

Anyways... he has driven a TON of fast cars GT3RS, 911 TT, Vettes, Vipers etc... He said he loves his E92 M3 and thinks its the best ALL around car he has ever driven with both amazing handling , power and great for everyday use. He said doign under 2 minutes at Tremblant is considered fast and he did under 2 minutes with the totally stock M3 without pushing it to hard.

He races a 700 or 800 hp (I forget the HP its one of those 2) Track only Corvette Z06 and he invited me out to Tremblant sometime although guests pay $500 but get a lesson and a shirt or something like that.

Who races? I'm a High Speed student, I learn. Get it right!

Now 5k for 23 days is quite the good deal... but those are lapping days not HPDE. No prob.. I'd love to be able to do that... Only problem is cost of tires, brakes, service... etc.. it never ends... very expensive hobby.

Which dealer is that ?

I know that the son of Canbec's owner, who owns, amongst others, Uptown Volvo (no names) is an avid racer and races a substantially modded Volvo with quite some success.

I guess a lot of these guys are into their product

Correct, they are lapping days and it excludes days where they hold special events, races, HPDEs etc.

My friend is a member as well. 23 days is more than enough though.
