Some scumbag did this to my car over the weekend and did a runner. Cant believe the nerve of some people. May they burn in hell for all eternity.

If they have to replace that panel do they need to cut it up and re-weld since is connected with the pillars and the roof?!?!?

Sorry to see this what a terrible thing to come back to. People out there just A. have no respect for anyone and B. just don't care about what they do.

Looks like a tow bar to me. maybe a 4wd as it's high from what i can see.

I hope you have a low excess mate or track the ba$#%ard down... hope it works out as pain free as possible for you.

Depending on where it was parked, it may be worth trying to park your car there more frequently over the next couple of weeks. There may be witnesses that didn't have a pen or paper at the time or for whatever reason know the details but couldn't give them to you or you may well find the car with the opposite damage parked there again.

There is also the off chance that the person who caused the damage will see just how bad it is and come forward out of guilt. It's worth a try..

Thanks guys, I have a couple of quotes done, its about $8000 worth of damage the panel will be replaced as its not repairable. Thank god for insurance. Its a big job & I'll be without the car for a couple of weeks at minimum - but I doubt the car will ever be the same.

I will never park in any street ever again. We have a suspect - a delivery truck across the road - still trying to chase that one up.

If you want a BMW specialist repairer, Mr Gloss in Kilpa Rd Moorabbin is top notch. If you don't live too far from them, give them a try. More for the quality of repair & service than the price.

Your car will be fine. It's not a chassis issue. From the point of impact, I suspected one of those Toorak Tractors or a van or truck.

Commiserations! I know how you feel. Just before Xmas I had a smartarse come through a red light on me as I was turning right and just clip the right front of my 330i by about 1-2 centimetres - just took out the parking sensor and some scraping of the bumper. Didn't stop of course and it was all too quick to get his number.

Anyhow, could have been worse - a few more centimetres and I would have been cactus. In for repairs on 14 Feb - replacement of whole bumper panel so it will be better than before.

Just the excess probably ($550) so not too bad.

It's remarkable how many people actually think it's a good idea to do a hit and run. I've never met anyone who thinks it's a fair thing to do, and yet it happens... must be Camry drivers...

GOT HIM !!! We managed to track down the suspect - a delivery driver in a small truck. The rear corner of his truck was a perfect fit for the dent on my car - he admitted it straight away after that!
Oh well ... at least he will be paying for it all now.
