I used my 335i cluster and painted the backing plates in silver and changed the led in white.

Great work on the dials! Everything looks great!!

Question about the paddle shifters, are M Sport steerings wheel specific to paddle shift installation or can they be retrofitted to any normal M Sport/tech steering wheel?

you can also use a m-sport steering wheel but you must have the place on the backside for the paddles... i taked the m3 steering wheel because i like it. But you can also use the normal steering wheel (with the place for paddles) but you must change the mufu's even if you have a m3 steering wheel.

Looks like there attached with 1 screw per paddle?

So how do you get around the paddle notches on the backside of the wheel? Is there a seperate piece behind the wheel you can get?

Yes they are attached with 1 screw per paddle... bmw has 2 variants for steering wheels.. one is without that place for paddle and the other one is with the place.. i dont think that you can only get the backside ... if you want the place for the paddles, i think you must buy a steering wheel with that place..
