Where Are The 335s At?

I was disappointed in not seeing a single 335i at Sunday's BMWCCA AutoX event in San Diego, CA. Lots of other BMWs and non-BMWs there. Its no secret that the 335 can blow away most cars straight-line, but I really want to see it handle. I can understand some hesitation with taking an expensive car out to the track where there is real possibility of wrecking the car, but at an autox, that risk is virtually non-existent.

One of the members here, Safetywork, won the stock 6-cylinder class in his e90 330i . I won 6-cylinder modified and was the 2nd fastest BMW there. I missed Top BMW Time by just 4/10ths of a second, aargh. It doesn't matter how fast your car is if you don't know how to drive it. Next event is a 2-day autox on July 21/22nd. Come out and play!

Anyways, here are pics that show the variety of cars at the event. This first one is me and a guy who did this for the first time. He really enjoyed it.

Nice pics.

I am the only 335 running in the Rocky Mountain chapter autox, I wish some others would come out as well. My sport package rft tires are not very sticky, I really am looking forward to them wearing out so I can get something better. Besides that the car does pretty well imo.

Looks like fun. Just too much tire munching for me. I'll stick to the track.

Love the photo of the silver E90 at work! (sig indicates I may be biased).

I doubt I'll be as serious about it as I once was, but I'll be taking my 335 out to the cones and maybe VIR after she's properly broken in. My PAX will probably be off the charts bad (coming from a momentum car to a brawler), but time isn't everything.
