Awesome!

Are there any errors when the lights first flash?

There are many stories where the rear LED turn signals have bulb errors until they flash once.

Thanks.

$129... I agree how is a pair of LEDs this price? License plate LEDs are $20 on ebay $30-50 from vendors ... some use the same ohms/watts, etc.. but I can say post people prefer to buy from vendor.

But what makes these $129?? That is crazy!

F1 Autohaus charges $159.99 for the bulbs, or $109 if you send the core in. From my last conversation from him, the regular bulbs are quite expensive and he has to retrofit them with LEDs.

So, the price isn't that bad compared to what is out there, which is nothing...

That sounds crazy to me... This is a variation of some 5200S bulb (the stock bulb name that comes in our cars, I am sure many of you use sylvania.com as a reference guide for bulbs).

If you look around on the NET and look at 5202 LEDs, you'll be surprised at how similar that bulb is that pops up to what the bulb is in the video. But it might not fit/cause error. I don't know.

---nevermind, the amber in the image up there is LED too. But i guess my question still stands on if the white LED bulbs are brighter than stock
Of course, we offer 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee.

The brightness between amber vs white should be just about the same.

Great question guys. Let me clarify and address your concerns.

The $129 cost factors in the cost of moulding on top of the LEDs. WeissLicht had to make an ABS mould, since they are not hacking apart OEM parts. This is a professionally made, finished product - not a garage job. No dremel tool's were inconvenienced in the making of this product

An ABS Mould of that size and complexity can cost around $5K. Not to mention that the little brass connector thingies that get put into the ABS are stamped out in quantities of around a million. I honestly have NO idea how WeissLicht got those made unless they actually bought a million - or paid a LOT more than they should have to make only 100,000 or so.

All of these costs are amortized through the cost of the product. Take, for example, matte black kidney grills. The material and labor cost per unit is probably around $2-3. The moulds (4 unique moulds for 1 set of grills) can cost upwards of $20,000.... so a grill set costs $70-120 depending on how many units the manufacturer expects to sell.

Also, I assure you, SMD LED's are not cheap, either. If you don't believe me, go ask mds where the majority of the cost of his revered LUX product comes from. Here's a hint: It's not labor. Though you're right, that is not where the majority of the cost comes from (See above).

Anyways, I don't know about the 5202. The bottom of a 5202 is completely different:
http://store.ijdmtoy.com/5202-H16-LE...202_sku_4e.htm
http://www.hidxenonlights.com/led-ca...ed-bulbs-p-652

If a 5202 were the same, I'm pretty sure we would have just bought those, instead of doing a minimum buy-in to get WeissLicht to make this bulb. Would have saved us a LOT of money (and headache), and we could have been selling it for a year or more.
Regardless, if you want, spend the $99, dremel off that connector on the bottom, and see if it fits, I'm curious. However, the WeissLicht product is guaranteed to fit and won't cause errors - and it has a 1 year warranty... So if you aren't feeling adventurous, I'd say it's worth $30 more?

From my understanding, PY24 is a unique bulb fitment, proprietary to Osram or Phillips or whoever it is who makes the OEM bulb (I'm blanking right now).

Hope this helps clarify.

Keep the questions/comments/concerns coming. We're not out to rip anyone off here.

Will these bulbs remove that tint of orange in the corner of the headlights when the headlights are off (under direct sunlight), as shown in the picture below?

If so, I'm definitely interested, but I'll have to wait for some real world reviews and pictures. Thanks for finally coming out with these bulbs, I've actually been waiting for something like this and am surprised they finally exist.

Correct, they get rid of what is known as the "Egg Yolk" effect They are clear when off and blink in your choice of amber or xenon white.

Can't believe you guys finally finished this. Great work. I don't like some of JLevi's business practices, but I can vouch for Jon's explanation about the cost; having a mold produced for this bulb and mass producing them is not cheap, and unfortunately that reflects in the price. The community has wanted this solution for at least four years and now that it's finally available, we should understand that JLevi/Bimmian has to recoup their investment somehow.

I've had the OSS solution in my car for a while now, only problem is you have to splice the wires running into the headlight and mount resistors on both sides of the car. Being this setup doesn't require a resistor, where does the extra power getting fed to the bulb go? LED bulbs require considerably less power than the stock halogen bulb. I'm actually going to buy these for when my next M3 arrives so I don't have to splice the wires again.

I did a write-up of a DIY using a very similar-looking LED tower. I was mostly happy with the results but found they were very sensitive to positioning properly during installation and were a bit dimmer than the factory bulb.

I believe the white LED version is slightly brighter than the amber but both LED-based PY24W solutions are still dimmer than the factory incandescent bulb and may be washed out in the daylight.

I want to try a pair of these and compare them with my DIY rebased units but am a bit skeptical of the results. I'm still on the fence with these and have since installed a pair of the OEM "Silver Vision" PY24WSV bulbs to get rid of the egg-yolk look.

Do you know if the base is a BMW specific application, or if it will work with other vehciales or locations (like rear turn signal on E90 blacklines)?
