335i autocross videos
This is my second year doing autox with my CCA chapter, first event of the year was yesterday, and it was my 5th autocross overall. Got some videos of some morning runs with my gopro, though I foolishly left it turned on during my work/rest period so I couldn't record my afternoon runs which were better
![]() First video is my second run where I'm still getting a feel for the course. Second video is my fourth run where I was pretty comfortable with the course, but went the wrong way on a pointer cone area and DNFd. Overall I was a tenth of a second slower than the other stock 335i coupe there. Car is stock except for RBF600 and on runflats. Any advice/tips would be welcome

From what I can tell, hand position and grip is great. If I had to comment on the driving, I would stay a little bit wider on turns and try to apex as much as you can. I know it is an autox so that is relatively difficult but every split second is valuable on such a small circuit. Other than that looked splendid!

I wish there was a autox track near me
. Great videos, have you thought about a LSD?

looking great for just starting out!
couple critiques of your driving: from the video it looks like your turning in way to early for a lot of the turns. Try and turn in a decent amount later and really find that apex with one consistent turning lock through the entire corner instead of changing your steering input throughout the corner. not sure if you know how to trail brake, but if you dont learn! its life changing on small tight circuits when you really need to keep your rolling speed as high as possible

I went for the first time yesterday! First run was 56.7 secs and my last was 50.6!! It was a big circuit as we used the police training pad
Took a drivers course from a local club. Had so much fun with really helpful instructors hence shaving 6 seconds off my time! One of my main problems yesterday was I was focusing on the cones directly in front of me rather than looking ahead for the exit and/or next entrance cone. I think you were doing it right but hard to tell from the video. Seems like the cones could have been laid out better on your circuit...i was surprised there wasnt a slalom portion. |
