F30 M Sport pics

Having said in an earlier post that I didn't particularly like like the look of the new 3 series front end, I've revised my opinion having seen these pictures: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=612947
I'm really looking forward to seeing it in coupé form and if, as indicated by early reports, the electric steering's been sorted, I shall be returning to the 3'er side.

I think bmw hit it with the F10 5 series but this is a step into strange if i'm honest, its not totally wrong, perhaps just at a glance its better?

Agreed, it looks very top-heavy. I'm hoping that the coupé will have a lower roof/side window line similar to the the current E90/92 models.

I like it and I especially like the look of the interior which was one of my biggest gripes based off the unrealistic brochure pics.

My only complaint is that it's just not much of a change from the LCI e90. The side on profile is almost identical as is the rear. Just a very slightly different bumper/diffuser shape. The overall shape of the front bumper is very, very similar to the current M sport with the aero splitters added and colour coded. It seems the biggest difference that i can see are those headlights which look like they were designed by Honda.

It isn't different enough from an E90 for me, not that there is anything wrong with the E90 but to 95% of the population it will look exactly the same car. They needed to move things on more, make it a bit more distinctive.

I hate it when manufacturers start giving their various different models a 'family' look - and unfortunately, BMW have gone down the same rout as the Audi's and MBs of this world. Apart from the obvious size, it's hard to tell the difference between the different models. I still get the 5 and 7 mixed up from quick glances; especially in white.

Looks like an e90 with the front end squeezed to a more unattractive point and I personally hate the idrive/satnav, looks like an afterthought to me.

I quite agree with you about the sat-nav and I cannot understand why BMW have gone for this Audi style, free standing screen. I've driven the best part of 1k miles in the new 6'er convertible and, being un-cowled, the screen's particularly prone to glare and sometimes almost unreadable, even on full brightness.

Don't like it at all, the replacement for the E92 will have to be significantly different to this for me to remain a BMW customer, unless of course I can afford a 6 series come change time.

That steering wheel reminds me of the type they used to fit in the sixties and it's beginning to grow on me, it is a little different from most steering wheels which always have large centres to take the airbag.

That's what I like about BMW. They bring out a new model and people are really unsure about it - but it grows and grows on them until they find themselves standing in front of one at a dealership...

I think the new one looks nice - not perfect but confident it's a grower too.

But this isn't new for BMW, go back to the time of the first E21 3-series, compare to the E12 5-series, E23 7-series and the E24 6-series of the period. If there was ever a family 'connection' it started back then, and essentially been the same ever since, with a few exceptions, Bangle wanted to break the mould a bit.

Bangle certainly broke the mould. His designs looked like they had fallen out of the ugly tree, hitting every branch on the way down. Not quite sure why BMW employed him when one of his early works was the universally criticised sales flop known as the Fiat Multipla.
