335i Brake Light Just Turned Yellow...

My e-brake light just turned Yellow (stays on all the time) along with the car on the lift when I start the car...can I assume that needs I need pads. It's a 2007 335i with 45k miles, and I'm hoping the rotors don't need to be changed too (guess I can bust out the micrometer if I can find the specs).

Should I just go with the OE pads by Textar (CarQuest is quoting $77 for those), Raybestos OE material for $73...or some other pad? I'm no tracker...just an aggressive daily driver.

Has the sensor been "tripped" meaning I have to replace it?

Also I'm assuming you don't turn these rotors right?

I was planning on using this DYI as a guide - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76418

Thanks for any advice.

I've heard yes and no about the rotors. My dealer changed both rotors and pads at just a hair over 50k miles.

The specs are stamped on the hat of the rotors. I would go oem but whatever your budget can support for your driving style will most likely prevail.

Wow, mine turned on too about a week ago. I haven't decided what to do yet but I just changed my tires to winters and the brake pads looked ok to me...car has 93k miles and I had everything replaced at 45k...wondering if it's just set to go off at set intervals or if I really need to get them done...

Doubt I'll go OEM though, the OEM pads drive me crazy with how much brake dust they put out...

I'm leaning towards regular (non-performance) EBC rotors and OEM pads (like the performance, don't mind the dust), unless anyone else has opinions otherwise...
