just save your money and get the package with the JB4. i bought a DCI then ordered a JB4 a few weeks later. could have saved some cash.

is the sound much more different with stock exhaust?
should i just not bother for the sake of warranty and the dealer being all suspicious? Last time they saw that i had replaced the dealer plate frames with jlevisw license plate frames, and they postponed service an extra two days to call and ask if i had any modifications on the car -_-

I wouldn't bother if I were you. you would need it when you increase the boost to a point where your stock exhaust becomes restrictive.
Yes you will get a sound difference. It has nothing to do with what exhaust you have on there. It's the intake side. you will hear the turbos spool louder than on stock box...
At the same time you will be sucking in hotter air from the engine bay... And you will end up putting your stock airbox in every time you visit the dealership (if you're under warranty)
Want my advice? Save your money for some other mod.

It sucks the hot air right from your engine bay...which means you will likely lose power. The stock FMIC is too small compensate for the extremely high IAT's after the DCI sucks hot air into your turbos. Someone will probably post a dyno graph on a modded car and say they increased power by X...but realize that the dyno was done with the engine deckled open. I have a DCI with a stock FMIC, but I also run methanol, which dramatically drops IAT's. When I run a non-methanol map, IAT's are very high and so the tune pulls timing to compensate.

False. IAT is the same during normal driving and at WOT between the DCI and the stock airbox.

I would get tune with the intake. Not worth it without the tune.. as for warranty i am still under it but my dealer doesn't bother me at all for anything! I think you should be fine.

Thanks. But all Terry did was let the thing idle in the driveway for 8 minutes between tests to attempt to heat up the engine bay. Driving around for an hour on a hot day would likely increase the engine bay temps significantly.Maybe the end result would have been the same, I dunno, but this experiment doesn't account for a real world scenario (i.e. actually driving the car).

I may be wrong, but there is no way I can believe that with and without shielding IATs are going to be same. It defies logic... well my logic at least. I'm not saying Terry falsified data, definitely not. but as Longboarder said a real world scenario is different.
but again I may be wrong

When I first bought my car, the first thing I did was buy a CAI. Not the same I know but it doesnt hurt. Most stock intakes are restrictive, if anything just get a drop in, but if you plan on future power mods get the DCI. Besides its kinda fun adding mods one step at a time.

sorry for

I see you have ets 7" FMIC. I recently bought the 5" version haven't installed it yet. is the trimming required to install the 7" a hassle?
