We fitted a set of the new BMW Performance light bulbs to an E90 yesterday.

"The new BMW Performance Light bulbs deliver exceptionally strong light of up to 100% more than a H7 CE standard bulb, thereby ensuring greater
safety on the road in poor light and visibility conditions."

Aesthetically these bulbs do not really provide any advantage. They're ever so slightly whiter than the standard bulb but the difference is whiteness is negligable and too little for the camera to show. The real difference is in the beam projection which has a visibly whiter hue and is much more intense.

We haven't had the measuring tapes out, but these bulbs do project much further than the standard H7 bulbs. I'd say the 'twice as far' claim is not an exaggeration.

The bulbs set retails at £45.90 inc VAT. I am offering an introductory price which includes a 20% discount making these £36.72 inc VAT until 4pm Feb 17th 2012.

Friendly note: We already know about the various HID upgrades, whiter, bluer, xenon look bulbs available on the market. These bulbs are BMW approved bulbs, for improved visibility and safety.

Wow, £45.90 is a bit steep. Even at £36 they're at the top end of what I'd pay for +100% bulb. Mind you, they're BMW Performance so that makes them cool! Haha!

Might have to get a set. Wonder how they compare to Philips Extreme Vision +100%..

Philips make the indicator bulbs so I dare say they are.

I had Philips extreme vision and they were crap. Diamond vision were much better.

Philips extreme +100% won the autoexpress comparison last nov - so sure these are as big improvement (if a little expensive)

These look good, that's the one thing that has annoyed me going from e92 320d to the e90 330d it don't come with the xenons as standard and i couldn't fine one that ticked all the boxes.... The standard lights are awful!...

But the one thing I don't want is it to look like you have changed them, halfords style.

Are we saying the light is OEM in colour? This the same for the Philips extreme bulbs?

Also easy to fit?

They are OEM in colour, the difference in whiteness was marginal. I haven't seen the Philips bulbs so I can't compare.
They're an easy, straight swap for the standard H7. You just need to be careful not to touch the glass so that you don't get any dirt/prints on it (as with any bulb).

Hmm I just paid £46 for 4x Philips XtremeVisions via a Auction site.

These sound awfully like the same product, maybe if someone buys them they can sample a bulb to compare.

RRP is a little steep perhaps but being BMW Approved an all that with 2 year warranty...

Anneka what about the new angel light style on the lci e92? Are they bulbs or its the actual headlight unit to make it supremly bright and purply?

It's the lamp assembly - they're high-brightness LEDs, not bulbs.
