Well got mine today. Cheers Neil for organizing the delivery

Fitting is a real pain in the Hoop!!! You need the hands of a 5 year old to get in about them.

Anyway just a couple of pics from me as others have posted all you need to see.

Side by side against Standard H8's

Both Fitted. Photographing them is a pain with my camera and this is the best I could do

Big thanks to Neil for the Group Buy and sorting delivery to suit my schedule. A pleasure doing business with you

I'm guessing that having 4 LEDs these will be much brighter than the e90 halogen version

The E92/93 design means the outer halo is difficult to light hence the 4 LEDs.

The E90 has just two LEDs and work really well as shown here...

Left LED and OEM Right

Neil,

I was to understand that fitting LED's, the voltage drop from DRL to SL mode wouldn't affect the brightness of LED AE. Is this not the case with BMS LEDs?

The Light Control Module makes "Bright White H8" bulbs dim and go yellow. These bulbs stay white and any dimming should insignificant and will likely vary from car to car.

Were the cars running or working off battery?

I would definatly agree with Neil, in person the outer halo is lit. Like above it is difficult to capture it on camera as my camera skills are nill lol

Like I have previously said if anyone wants to see them in person before they buy (around West Midlands/Birmingham area) drop me a pm

The photos I took of comaprison was with the engine running, the ones I took in the dark were with the engine off

In the past I have had GP Thunder standard, LEDs that interfered with the radio and could not see in daylight and also GP Thunder 8500k which have been best till present. These LEDs don't cause any interference with the standard radio and you can certainly see them in daylight. I would have hoped to have the outer halo a little brighter but the design does not lend itself to it due to being fibre optic from the light source of the inner halo. Although the new LEDs are effectively 360 degrees with the 4 LEDs it may have been better to design them with two of the LEDs lined up with the apertures in the inner light lens as an LED output is stronger looking straight onto it. Those that have fitted have a look into the inner light lens to see if yours line up with the 2 apertures 1 each side of the chrome lens, don't think you can get the fitting wrong but it is difficult to twist the back of the LED holder. For those that have not received or ordered these yet I think they are a big improvement and may be the best available for the price considering the design of the fitting and will never match the newer type outer halo output.

I'll be installing mine when i get back next week, I currently have GP Thunder bulbs installed that i purchassed from JuicedUpTuning. Could I use the GP Thunders for my fog lights (which i only use when its actually foggy!) or are they a different bulb?

I wouldn't bother trying to use the GP's as fogs regardless of whether they fit or not. The brighter bulb will actually make them less effective in foggy conditions.

There's a big difference in the brightness of both the inner and outer halos in yr 2 pictures. Is that to do with the camera settings or is it engine on or off or DRL or sidelights ?

Hi

Can these BMS 4 LED's only be installed one way ? I ask as I did read somewhere on the zillions of threads on LED AE's that a forum member was miffed at LED outer halo until he realised he'd installed his LED's incorrectly. Re installing to get alignment meant his outer halo was much better.

Setup for what i did last night was engine off and sidelights on.

1st picture was with the outside light off and the 2nd one with it on.

There does seem to be alot of different in the brightnesss between the inner and outer. Meant to comment on this but got distracted last night.

I'm going to try and adjust the angle of the led in the light cluster to see if that makes any difference.

Compared to the old bulbs they are a cleaner white light which i am happy with.

One thing I've noticed since fitting mine is that the DAB reception has deteriorated a fair bit which is annoying.
Neil, can you ask the suppliers about this please mate.
Seems fine on FM though.

E93 owners, this morning drove with roof down for the first time after fitting LEDs and noticed some interference on standard radio. When roof is folded the car resorts to an aerial in the rear bumper rather than the rear screen, interference wasn't too bad but noticeable. For the times I listen to radio and roof down opportunities I think I can live with. Where is the aerial situated for the DAB?

Very pleased with mine. Once I realised the ballast resistor and H8 connector were in the box underneath the the LEDs. Rotating the LEDs into their sockets is awkward because the plastic body is so smooth. Thin latex gloves help your finger tips to grip.

Also if you have adaptive lights then be careful the ballast resistor doesnt slip into the headlight void and jam up the mechanism . My RH headlight stopped turning at first. Ive now taped the ballast resistors to the H8 connector.

Guys

Noticed on a passing E92 (yellow lights) that they were far more visible from a distance. As the car got closer to passing me the lights become less visible like some of the photo's. Makes sense as they supposed to allow other drivers to see you from a distance.

Try adding some extra distance when taking the photo's
