Hid Fog Help!
hey guys.
bought my '9 335xi with HID fogs in it. i keep getting a CEL for the lights when i first start the car. when i turn the fogs on it goes away. i've noticed now that when i switch back and forth from high to low beams the CEL comes back on of coarse it chimes too. it's starting to get really annoying and i need to make this stop. I looked at my ballasts and they are: input volt 9~32V input amp 6a max working volt 13.5v working cur 3.1a output power 35w 5000K Can anyone please explain how to fix this? |

You need to code out the errors. The reason why the chime and error comes on is because when you turn on the high beams the fogs shut off and then you get the bulb warm check giving the error and when you turn off the high beams the fogs turn back on.

Is there anyway other than coding to get this done? i asked the dealership about it one time and they told me to go back to stock. i don't know anyone in western PA that does coding or know how to do it myself.

Even the systems that claim to be Error Free - are not always so.
My HPB Canbus Ballast Error Free threw errors constantly in my 09' and we never did figure out why. I ended up simply coding the fogs out, and while I was in there I coded them to stay ON with the Hi beams also...

Like others said. Fogs that claim to be error free Are not. All depends on the car. Either go back to stock or drive down to New York to see me or find someone closer.
